When the rest of the week went by, the night of the ball finally came, and everyone was on their way to the castle. Ladybug Chloe, her friend, Sabrina, and all nobles and villagers who got invitations went to the castle.
"Once Adrikins sees me, he WILL fall for me, and I will be his queen," Chloe said looking at herself with a compact mirror.
"Oh, yes he will, Chloe. There's no way Adrien will be able to take his eyes off of you," Sabrina said happily.
Marinette, Alya, Rose, & Juleka found a way to reach the castle without looking suspicious. Once they made it to the front gate, they presented the guards with their invitations. Once inside, they were astonished by the scenery and decorations of the ballroom. The ballroom had been decorated with deep purple and green drapes. Fragrant white lilies decorated the hall alongside blue and purple orchids, & the finest red tulips in Borealis.
"This is truly beautiful. Don't you think girls?" Alya said.
"It truly is. Come on. Let's enjoy ourselves before the night is over," Rose said.
Everyone in the ballroom was staring in awe and fascination by the 4 girls and their extraordinary attire. Some people even said that they never saw anything like Marinette's dress.
"Nino, do you think..." Adrien said before stopping.
Adrien's sentence was halted as his eyes caught someone in a ladybug themed dress getting a drink. Nervously, he made his way to Ladybug, knowing it was here. Nino's eyes were caught by Volpina's appearance. The fact that Volpina was wearing an orange dress made him realized it was her. Nino followed Adrien to the 4 girls.
"Hello, M'Lady," Adrien said bowing.
"Good evening, Your Highness," Ladybug said doing a curtsy.
"Would you do me the honor of the joining me for the First Dance?" Adrien asks.
"I'd love to," Ladybug said.
"Would you do me the honor of joining me for the First Dance?" Nino asks Volpina.
"Why not," Volpina says.
As Adrien and Ladybug began to dance, Nino and Volpina joined them, as well as other couples as well. Ladybug was slightly nervous, but she managed to remain formal and happy through the whole dance. What either the 4 people knew was that Chloe was staring angrily at Ladybug and Adrien dancing together.
"Ugh! Sabrina, who is that girl and what is she doing dancing with my prince?!?" Chloe said.
"I d-don't know Chloe. You should go after him. I'm sure he would want to spend all of his time with you at the ball," Sabrina said.
As soon as the song ended, with the help of Volpina, Nino, Reflekta, & Princess Fragrance, Adrien and Ladybug managed to slip away to the secret gardens.
"Thanks for a lovely dance, Adrien," Ladybug said.
"It was a true pleasure. Ladybug, I want you to stay here, with me. Our relationship is the strongest thing I've held on to ever since I fell for you," Adrien confessed.
"I would love nothing more than to stay, but I can't. I not only have responsibilities to the world as Captain Ladybug of The Shadows, but also it just wouldn't work out. You're a prince, and I'm just a vigilante that knows nothing about elegance or politics," Ladybug said looking away.
(Adrien was saddened by Ladybug's response) "I understand. We should head back inside. The ball is getting close to being over, and I don't want my father to be suspicious of my whereabouts."
After spending time with Adrien at the ball, Marinette went to find the girls, and leave. Volpina said her goodbyes to Nino, and Ladybug found Reflekta and Princess Fragrance.
"Come on girls, we should go before it gets really late," Ladybug said as she and her friends left the castle.
Time skip. After the ball
Upon returning to their hideout, the 4 girls changed back to their regular attire before heading off to bed. Marinette was still in deep thought over what Adrien said to her about staying with him. As for Adrien, he was still in deep thought over everything he and Ladybug had gone through ever since he met her. When he was little, his mother always told him that when you find the girl you wish to be with, don't let her go.
Before going off to bed, Adrien took out a box that was a special present from his mother. Inside, it contained a cat amulet, a heart charm, and a green forest-like jewel that she gave him before passing away. She told him that they were magical, but he never put them on before.
"I will find you Marinette, and I will make you my wife," Adrien said determined before going to bed.
