Alison's POV

It's 5 November 2005, we're driving down the road towards the destination of the coordinates dad's left us. I stare out of the window, silently humming along with the music, Hot blooded from Foreigner is playing. I haven't slept for a while, but I feel more awake than ever before. I feel a sharp pain in my side, I lift my shirt and there it is. There's a large bite on my right side, but it won't heal. Normally every cut, bruise or anything heals almost instantly.... in an hour it's like there was never anything to begin with. This wound on my side is still bleeding, has purple sides with dark veins sprouting out from the wound and then disappearing. I touch the wound and hiss in pain. But it's not heard by my brothers, because just at that moment Sam jerks awake. He blinks and rubs his eyes. Dean looks over at him with a concerned look on his face. "You okay?" Dean asks. Sam glances at Dean and then away. "Yeah. I'm fine." he says, but it's clearly a lie. Dean nods "Another nightmare?" he asks Sam, the question he has asked me more than a million times.

Sam clears his throat. "You wanna drive for a while?" Dean asks Sam. Sam laughs " Dean, your whole life you never once asked me that." Sam replies. "Just thought you might want to. Never mind." Dean says "Look, man, you're worried about me." Sam starts. Thank you mister obvious, he's always worried about us. "I get it, and thank you, but I'm perfectly okay." Sam adds "Mm-hm" Dean says and Sam grabs a map. "All right, where are we?" Sam asks "We are just outside of Grand Junction." Dean says. Sam folds down the map, which is a map of Colorado and has a large red X labeled 35-111. "You know what?" Sam starts "Maybe we shouldn't have left Stanford so soon." he says "Sam, we dug around there for a week. We came up with nothing. If you wanna find the thing that killed Jessica....." Dean says, but Sam interrupts "We gotta find Dad first." Sam finishes "Dad disappearing and this thing showing up again after twenty years, it's no coincidence." Dean says "Dad will have answers. He'll know what to do." Dean says. "It's weird, man." Sam starts "These coordinates he left us." he adds "This Blackwater Ridge." he says "What about it?" Dean asks "There's nothing there. It's just woods." Sam says as he puts down the map. "Why is he sending us to the middle of nowhere?" he asks. We drive past the National Forest sign that says, 'Welcome to LOST CREEK Colorado National Forest'.

Dean pulls over and parks the car at the ranger station. While Sam looks at a 3D map, Dean and I are looking at the decorations. "It's cut off by these canyons here, rough terrain, dense forest, abandoned silver and gold mines all over the place." Sammy tells us, but Dean and I are looking at a bear. It's size is enormous! "Dude, check out the size of this freaking bear." Dean says.

Sam looks over. Dean is looking at a framed photo of a man standing behind a much larger bear, I'm trying to look at it too but sadly enough I'm too small. Sam comes over and stands next to us. "And a dozen or more grizzlies in the area. It's no nature hike, that's for sure." Sam says "You boys aren't planning on going out near Blackwater Ridge by any chance?" A voice says from behind us, it startles us and we whip around. "Oh, no, sir, we're environmental study majors from UC Boulder, just working on a paper." Sam says laughing a little, Dean grins and raises a fist. "Recycle man" Dean says "Bull" the man -probably a ranger- says. Oh no, he's not buying any of it. Sam's eyes flicker to Dean and I. "You're friends with that Haley girl, right?" The man asks. I see Dean consider our options, just for a second. "Yes. Yes, we are, Ranger...." Dean starts and leans closer to look at the name tag."Wilkinson" he finishes " Well I will tell you exactly what we told her. Her brother filled out a back-country permit saying he wouldn't be back from Blackwater until the twenty-fourth, so it's not exactly a missing persons now, is it?" Ranger Wilkinson tells us.

Dean shakes his head. "You tell that girl to quit worrying, I'm sure her brother's just fine." the ranger tells him. I can understand why that Haley girl is worrying about her brother, you just feel when something's wrong, you have to trust on that feeling and act on it. If she feels something's wrong, than something probably did go wrong and that's why we're here. Well, that and dad send us out here. More because of dad though, otherwise we'd probably hadn't known about this job.  "We will. Well that Haley girl's quite a pistol, huh?" Dean says and I frown, what does that even mean. "That is putting it mildly." ranger Wilkinson replies. "Actually you know what would help is if I could show her a copy of that back country permit. You know, so she could see her brother's return date." Dean says. The ranger eyes my brother and Dean raises his eyebrows.
