Jimin and his mom had finally settled in. It has been 4 days of endless unpacking and avoidance of any kind of interest in him, good or bad.
You got up for school, got ready and went down for breakfast. Jimin was sitting on your usual spot, tiredly eating a piece of waffle your mom had made him. He turned to look at you and slightly smirked, sending a crazy shiver down your spine. Who does he think he is??
You decided it was too early to argue with him so you sat down, took a waffle and looked anywhere but where he was.
"Well isn't it a bit rude not to say good morning?" Said Jimin.
You rolled your eyes and said, "you don't need my attention."
He sat back on his seat and smiled, loving your attitude. "hmm, well are you ready yet? I'm driving you to school." You looked over at him with a sick look. "I don't need a chauffeur. I can walk myself to school."
Jimin shrugged. "Whatever you say, just let me know if you need a ride before you leave." You looked away. Why was he being all nice but not nice at the same time?? You saw him take his phone out as he said "look, give me your number and if you need a ride after school, I'll go get you. Seriously, I'm not kidding." You were temped to take the offer, but you being you, you felt it was some kind of plan he had to mess you up later. "No, I'm okay. I already said I'm fine." He sighed at your stubbornness because he was being honest for once and he wasn't planning on giving you another chance.
You finished breakfast and honestly, you were always lazy to walk to school. You washed your dishes and went to get your bag. As you walked to the door you fixed your skirt and grabbed the door handle to leave. "Y/n. It's raining, at least take an umbrella." You blushed, realizing you hadn't even payed attention to your surroundings enough since Jimin was all over your mind.
"Oh- crap. Yeah.." You quickly grabbed your umbrella and stepped out the house, escaping the embarrassment and all the tension from the house. You sighed and went to school.
After school, the rain got heavier than before. All the students seemed to have a ride home while you held your little useless umbrella over your head, standing under the schools roof. What were you gonna do? The rain wasn't only rain. There was thunder and lightning, the air would only drag your umbrella and end up all broken.
You took your phone out. "Fffffuck" you said as you remembered how you rejected Jimin's offer. You put your phone away and saw how quickly the school became empty. Every student went home and you stood there still questioning what the hell you were gonna do. "I guess I'll have to run home and hope I don't get sick." You sighed with determination. Your house was only 20 minutes away. Wait, 20 minutes? You're definitely gonna get sick.
Okay, this is the plan. You're gonna grab your bag and hug it because all your books are gonna get soaked and you don't need any debt at your age. You're gonna take your little legs and make them run your ass to that snack shop that's 5 minutes from here and we'll see what happens from there. Okay? Alright. You've got this.
You nodded and hugged your bag tight. Just as you were about to make a run for it, you felt someone tap your shoulder. You turned and saw those pretty brown eyes behind a pair of round glasses. Kevin.
He smiled at you and said, "hey. Were you just about to run home?" He said with an amused laugh. You blushed bad. He knew you were gonna run for it.
All you did was shrug and agree in embarrassment, "yeah I was."
"Well I just came back from finishing a test and I see you here after everyone's gone. I think that means we should walk together," he said with a kind smile.
You nodded and said, "but an umbrella isn't gonna work."
"I see why you were gonna run then."
He took your hand and said,"running it is then. We'll make it to the shop near here." You smiled. The feeling of his protective hand around just made you love the rain that much more.
You both started running as fast as your legs could. You were running behind him, watching how every drop of heavy rain fell onto his hair, how his school jacket moved the way his body did. How his hand didn't let go of yours even if he ran against the violent rain. It was perfect.
You saw him slow down, gradually becoming tired until you passed him. You still held onto his hand but this time you were in front of him, running as fast as your legs permitted you and making sure he didn't give up. You both arrived to the shop, drenched and cold. You both were catching your breaths and you looked up. He was looking at you through his wet glasses with a playful smile.
"That was fun!" He said. All you did was smile and nod.
"Well, I'll see you tomorrow," you said. "Thank you for walking, or running me here." You two had an idea towards where you each lived but this shop was where you usually split up.
He nodded as he pushed his glasses up. "I'll see you around y/n. Text me when you get home so I know you made it fine." He smiled as he waved goodbye and began running far into the rain.
You watched him until he was gone. You still had to walk for about 15 minutes home but you decided not to run this time. You had a fondness for the rain, especially after what just happened.
You stepped out to the rain, standing there for a minute to appreciate how peaceful it was before you had to get home. You walked slowly, making a 15 minute walk into a 40 minute one. You got home and stepped in, dropping your bag by the door like you usually did. The house was quiet and dark. The thunder stuck loudly followed by a bright second of lightning. There was dim light coming from the kitchen. You thought it was your mom but she was working.
Maybe it was Jimins mom?
You stepped to the kitchen, hungry as usual. Your hair was drenched as well as your clothes. Had you jumped into a pool? No. It was just raining outside and your feelings for Kevin were becoming stronger. It made you sad to think he probably didn't like you. The whole way home you wondered if a boy like him could like a loudmouth like you.
You stepped into the kitchen with your head down, your hair dripping and your heart heavier than your wet clothes.
"You really are stubborn aren't you?" You heard someone say. But it wasn't your mom, or his mom,. It was him. Jimin.
You looked up with no expression. Not feeling angry to see him or upset because he called you stubborn. You were just, sad.
He noticed that and walked away from the kitchen looking irritated. You looked down again, feeling the annoyance in his actions. You looked over and saw a pot. It's steam rising up, showing you something was cooking. Jimin was?
As you stood in wonder you saw your vision become darkened as something covered you up, blocking your concentration from the pot. It was warm and dry. A towel. You peeked under the towel and saw Jimin returning back to his cooking. "Get yourself dry. Dinner is almost ready."
