Joe's Point of View.
"Joe, it's time to wake up. You're getting discharged in a couple of hours." I heard a whisper from the right. I slowly open my eyes to see Caspar with Adaline. I grin lazily before letting my eye-lids fall again; engulfing me into another short-termed sleep."Joe, seriously this time." Whispered Caspar, shaking me awake. I take a deep breath before slowly opening my eyes. I look around to watch my surroundings. Adaline in her bed next to mine, Caspar with his hand on my hip after shaking my awake, Zoe and Alfie cuddling on the pull-out sofa, the many nurses and doctors passing by my room.
"How long was I out for?" I asked, slowly sitting up.
"About two hours after I woke you up the first time." Chuckled Caspar, standing up. "Are you thirsty?" I nod and he grabbed my water bottle off the counter. He handed it to me after opening it. I thanked him then taking long, slow drinks from it.
"Did you get any sleep last night?" I questioned, looking at Caspar. He shrugged before sitting back down. "Caspar.." He smiled before pecking my lips.
"I got a couple of hours. Don't worry, lovebug." He promised while pulling out his phone. I sighed before looking at Adaline. She was so small but the perfect size. Her little button nose, just like Caspar's. I smile softly as I feel tears gather in my eyes. I take another deep breath before willing them away and lay back down."
It was only an hour later when Autumn came in with my discharge papers.
"Take it slow. Do NOT push yourself, Joseph or I swear to the heavenly gods I will hunt your bloody ass down. Drink lots of water, you need to stay hydrated. You will be in pain, take pain meds as needed." Autumn explained then turned the page. "Make a follow-up appointment with your primary doctor to make sure that everything is going well. Okay?"
"Okay," I tell her while she hands me the paper to sign. I sign it before handing it back to her, she smiles.
"Okay, you're all set to go! Adaline is adorable by the way." She whispers before leaving the room. I chuckle at her before looking at Caspar who looks like a worried horse.
"What's wrong?" I inquire with a raised eyebrow.
"I don't think you're ready to go home. I... I just feel like you're gonna get hurt." Whispered Caspar, biting his nail. I frown at him.
"Caspar, it's been three weeks. It'll be okay. I'm fine. Yes, I have pain but that's normal. I had a blimey baby for god's sake! It'll all be okay. The minute I feel like something is wrong, I will tell you. Okay?" I promise him, he sighed but nodded. He stood up and helped me out of bed. I gasped and he immediately shook his head.
"Nope. No. This isn't happening. I'm telling them to keep you longer." Caspar mumbled, starting to walk away.
"Caspar!" I shout, he stopped and looked at me with tears in his eyes. "It's going to be okay. I haven't walked that much. Only to the bathroom and back to bed, remember? They kept me on bedrest for a reason." I tell him, he took a deep breath with his eyes closed before walking over to me. I opened my arms and he immediately went into them. I breathed in his scent and smiled. This is home.
After I got changed into sweatpants, a jumper and sneakers - we got Adaline ready to leave also. Caspar was a nervous wreck.
"What if she's not ready to be home either, Joe?" Drawled Caspar, I bit my lip. "What if we drop her?" I bit my cheek next. "What if we're not ready to be parents?" I looked at him to see he was visibly shaking. "I'm terrified, Joe. She's so tiny and I'm a giant. So are you. We.. What.. What if something happens?"
"It's okay to be scared, Caspar. Do you think every mum and dad are immediately like 'Oh yes, this is my first child! I know exactly what to do!'?" I asked him, he slowly shook his head. I pursed my lips at him and walked over to where he was sitting on the hospital bed. I wrapped my arms around him to where he started crying.
"I don't want to be like my dad, Joe." Cried Caspar, gripping my jumper. I frowned, kissing his messy hair.
"You are nothing like him and you never will be, Caspar. You are going to be an amazing father and already are." I told him with strong intentions of getting his confidence up. "Look up at me," I tell him, he does as I say. I press my lips to his and slowly kiss him. He sighs softly with a small squeak of a approval. I pull away slowly and look at Adaline. "Now look at her. Look at our child that we made together." He does as she lets out small like 'ahs' and gasps while wiggling around in her little bed. He sniffles and smiles.
"You're amazing, Joseph." He tells me before standing up and towering over me. He walked over to Adaline. "As are you, Adaline Bella." He said, picking her up. She immediately relaxed in his arms.
"You're just as amazing, Caspar," I tell him and then we left. We got into the elevator with my bag, a diaper bag and Adaline in the car cradle. Caspar was bouncing on the ball of his feet as we waited for our floor to show up. "Calm down, Caspar," I whisper and he blushed.
"I'm just nervous. I'm sorry." He whispered, kissing my head. I grinned as our floor showed and we exited. We got to the car and started for the drive home.
"You don't ever have to be sorry for being nervous," I tell him as we stopped at a stop light. He looked at me and grabbed my hand. "I love you, Caspar Lee."
"I love you too, Joseph Sugg."
