"So, how long ago were you exiled?"  Trixie questioned.

Zai brushed his black locks back off his brow.  "Roughly three days ago."

"Wow, does that mean they're still looking for you?"

Yes, it does."

"Fantastic."

"Why?"

"That was sarcasm, if you didn't notice."

"I don't notice many things."

"So, are we in danger?"

"Yes."

"Uh... that's a bad thing, right?"

"I can defend myself.  I was probably the strongest vampire out of all of them.  Just didn't like the sound of cannibalism, I suppose."

"That's great... what about poor little human being me?"

"I can train you up."

"They will still be stronger than me.  Unlike you, I AM NOT A FREAKING VAMPIRE!!!!!"

Oops, Trixie thought.  Maybe that was a little too over the top.  He just didn't get it, that was all.  He had been a powerful vampire all his life, meanwhile she had been a little human weakling.

Zai's face went very grave.  "There is only one other option."

"I'm willing to hear it."

"You will have to become a vampire."

"How?"

"Do you really want to hear?"

"Yes."

"My bite, of course."

"What the hell? I don't want you to bite me!"

"It's the only way."  He paused.  "Well, no it isn't, actually.

"Tell me.  What's the other way?"

"A very complex potion."

"Can you make it?"

"It'll take a while."

"Let's get started."
