The next few days we spent grazing and galloping around. Everyone was waiting for winter. I heard some of the other herds were getting ready to cross the mountains. Me and Aspen did this as well. The day came to cross the mountains. Everyone was excited and scared. For one, none of us had crossed the mountains. So we have a reason to be scared. Aspen noticed that I looked a little nervous.
"Are you ok?" He asked with a worried voice.
"Ya just a little nervous that's all." I said reassuring him.
"Don't be! You've got me and all the others!" He said trying to make me feel better. "Don't forget that Night has crossed the mountains many times. He'll guide all of us safely."
"You're right I shouldn't worry." I said.
"Come on we need to get going or the others will leave us!" He said with a laugh.
"K let's going." I said.
Soon we were off. Night had explained for all of us to follow and stay behind his herd. He said as long as we stay on the trail we will have no trouble. He also said there will be plenty of creeks and clearings for us to rest at. We started up the hill and everyone was happy and excited to be off.
"Ok here is my plan." Aspen said. "There is a small meadow that has a nice little creek and is not far from the other big meadow. I was thinking we could take that as our place. How dose that sound?"
"That sounds great!" I exclaimed.
"Good. Will it be ok if we share it with Spirit and his mare Rain?" He asked.
"That will be great! They are so nice and if I had to share a meadow with anyone it would be them." I said in a happy voice.
