"Here you go boss, she's all yours." A male scientist said as he practically threw a beaten up Segira on the floor in the dimly lit, but big, room.
Their boss, who was standing on the other side of the room with his back facing them, nodded slowly. "Thank you. Now, get out." He said coldly.
"Yes sir." The scientist said before hurrying out of the room, closing the large double doors behind him.
Segira winced in pain as she struggled to get onto her feet, her clothes were torn and she had several fresh cuts and bruises all over her, George had given her one heck of a beating on the way over. The man in front of her looked back at her from over his shoulder for a moment, his clothes were different this time though: he wore a long-sleeved black lab coat with red trimmings that reached down to just below the knee, dark bluish-grayish pants, and a loose, short-sleeved shirt. He didn't say anything to her for a while, he wanted to wait until she realized where she was and who was standing in front of her. However, he did start to slowly walk over to her until he was right in front of her. Segira noticed him almost immediately when she saw his feet walking towards her and she slowly looked up at him to see who he was.
Her eyes widened and her whole body began to shake in fear as a terrified look washed over her face. "Y-you're..." Segira stammered, but she was so scared that she couldn't speak.
He smirked widely at her. "What's wrong, 817? Have you forgotten your creator already? Let your mind you. My name is Vairos, but I guess you could call me 'daddy.'" He laughed. Segira felt like she could hardly breathe, the man who had been telling the other scientists what to do to her all these years was standing right in front of her! He was even scarier than she thought he would be. She might have met him once before, but she couldn't remember. Vairos snickered in amusement when he saw her reaction before bending over to grab a handful of her hair and lifting her up off the ground with it, making her wince. "I know George hurt you while they were bringing you back, but I never gave him permission to do so, so I apologize for that. He will pay dearly for what he's done. However, I cannot ignore the fact that you ran away and didn't come back, your punishment won't be as bad as George's, but it will be very painful." Segira was so scared that she couldn't even think straight as she stared into Vairos' cold, greenish-blue eyes, her breaths were shaking every time she and inhaled too. "So, once I'm done with you, someone will take you back to your old room. Your little friend is in there as well, but we won't do any tests on him or hurt him as long as you don't try anything again, understand?" Segira was too scared to say anything, so she just nodded slightly, making them smirk in satisfaction. "Good."
Something suddenly shot out of the ground next to Vairos and pierced Segira right in her left shoulder, making lots of blood practically gush out of the new wound almost immediately. Segira's eyes widened and she screamed in pain as what looked like a giant spike slowly went deeper into her shoulder, eventually stopping at the bone. But a set of pulling out like Segira hoped it would, it suddenly jerked forward into her shoulder, making a loud and sickening cracking sound as it broke right through her bone and jutted out of the back of her shoulder. Segira screamed again, only this time it was much louder and in pure agony, as tears streamed down her face. The pain was much worse than anything she had ever experienced, she thought it would be too much for her if this went on any longer. Luckily for her, the spike suddenly, and quickly, pulled itself out of her shoulder and went back into the ground next to Vairos' feet.
At first, blood kept gushing out of her wound on both front and back of her shoulder, but it eventually decreased to just seeping out of the wound, the blood dripping down her arm, back, and side. But, she had lost a lot of blood, and she was losing more and more with every second. Vairos grinned, he seemed to be amused in watching her be in so much pain, before letting go of her hair, making her collapse on the floor in a heap as she winced in pain. He walked away and pushed a button on the wall in the opposite side of the room, turning around to face the two large doors that led into his room. And after a few seconds, the doors slowly opened and Mike walked into the room, but he stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Segira collapsed on the floor in a puddle of blood.
"They actually found her? Why didn't anyone tell me!?" He thought to himself as he stared at Segira with wide, shocked eyes. But after a while, he looked at her Vairos nervously. "You called for me, Sir?" He asked rather quickly.
Vairos nodded. "Yes, take 817 to her room with her friend, then get ready to start conducting tests on her as usual." Vairos replied.
Mike lifted an eyebrow, a bit concerned now. "Already? With all due respect, Sir, shouldn't she be allowed to rest for a bit?"
Vairos glared at him coldly. "No. I want tests to start being done on her immediately. We've wasted enough time as it is." Vairos growled.
Mike's eyes widened and he blinked a few times before nodding quickly. "Yes, Sir, I'm sorry." He said before going over to Segira, grabbing her wrist on her uninjured arm, and hurrying out of the room, dragging her behind him.
There was a trail of blood behind them everywhere they went from Segira's injured shoulder, but Mike knew a janitor would clean it all up. Segira was in so much pain and was so weak that she couldn't struggle against him, all she could do was stare up at the ceiling with half open eyes as he dragged her down the maze of halls, everything that had just happened replaying in her mind over and over again. After a few minutes, they reached her "room" and Mike scanned his employee ID card on the scanner next to the door before putting in a long, complex code on the keypad under the scanner. Segira couldn't keep up with it though, she was too tired and weak, so she didn't even bother to try and watch him put the code in. Once he opened the door, he practically threw her into the room before quickly closing it, locking it as well. Segira landed on her injured shoulder and she cried out loudly in pain, holding her wounded shoulder with her other hand painfully.
"Segira? Are you okay?" Goten, who was squatting down next to her, asked her as he looked at her with a worried look on her face.
Segira looked up at him weakly. "Goten...?"
"You don't look very good... Are you alright?" He asked again.
She stared at him for a moment before slowly managing to get up to a sitting position, and she looked at Goten while holding her body shoulder. "I'm fine..." She replied quietly, lying only because she didn't want to worry him. "Did they hurt you in the van or any other time, Goten?"
He shook his head. "No. No one in the van even spoke to me, so it was pretty boring. And once we got here, they threw me in this dark ground... I got kind of scared being in here by myself..." He looked down as he said the last part.
Segira looked at him with a sad expression on her face before she pulled him into a hug with her good arm. "Oh Goten... I'm so sorry... This is all my fault! If...if only I didn't run away, then none of this would've happened and you still be with your family... So sorry..." Segira told him, starting to cry the tears she's been holding back all this time.
Goten had a look of shock on his face, he looked at Segira from the corner of his eye. "But...then I wouldn't have met you, and I'm really glad I did meet you. I've had a lot of fun with you when you started to live with us." Goten told her with a reassuring smile. Segira pulled away and stared at him with wide, shocked eyes, tears still streaming down her face. "Besides, you won't be alone in here anymore. I'll be with you and keep you company so you won't get too lonely."
Segira blinked, she couldn't believe what she was hearing. "G...Goten..." She said softly, her voice shaking slightly.
But before she or Goten could say or do anything else, the door leading into the room suddenly open and a female scientist stood in the doorway, hiding a smirk as she looked at Segira. "817, come with me now. We have some tests for you." She told Segira gruffly.
Segira felt her throat close and her chest tighten when the scientist said that, but then she looked at Goten and remembered what both George and Vairos had told her about what would happen to him if she disobeyed. She looked back at the scientist with sad eyes for a moment before slowly standing up on shaky legs. "Alright..." She said quietly, slowly walking over to the scientist. Right now, all she wanted was to keep Goten from getting hurt, she wouldn't be able to forgive herself if anything happened to him.
"Segira, no!" Goten called after her, a scared look on his face.
Segira looked back at him from over her shoulder and gave him a small, sad, but reassuring smile. "Don't worry, Goten, I'll be fine. I'm used to this kind of stuff, remember?" She told him the door closed.
