I, Kelafiel, Princess of Hell, never go back on my promises. So for the next few days, Jeremy’s life was Hell thanks to me.

“Jeremy, why are you sleeping out here in the living room?” Cayden asked the next morning when he saw his brother’s prone body on the couch.

“I think the heater in my room’s spoiled, it was unbearably warm last night, to the point that I decided to sleep out here,” Jeremy replied groggily.

“Seriously? I’m going to go take a look,” Cayden said and went into Jeremy’s room.

Meanwhile, I was eating my breakfast nonchalantly when Oria gave me a look. “It was you, wasn’t it? I heard him reject you yesterday,” she whispered, not wanting them to overhear us.

I did not reply, which Oria took it as a yes. “Princess! I let what happened with Evelyn slide because she was driving everyone mad, but don’t you think you’re going overboard now?” she hissed.

Dropping my calm demeanour, I stared with a hard expression at Oria. “Well, you heard him! How dare he reject me? He should feel honored that someone like me even takes a liking to him!” I retorted angrily.

“But he doesn’t know your true identity,” Oria reminded me.

“It isn’t just that either! You saw how annoying Evelyn was, but he still preferred her over me! It’s an insult to me for someone like her to be picked over someone like me!” I exclaimed.

“So, it’s just your ego that’s bruised, not because he likes someone else and not you?” Oria gave me a shrewd look.

I looked away, unable to reply. Oria, smirking at my reaction, said, “I knew it! You do like him, don’t you?”

“I do, and it’s annoying! Why do I like someone who’s so mean to me?” I sighed. “But regardless, I’ll make him regret rejecting me!”

“You’re still going to continue torturing him?”

I nodded, and Oria sighed. “That’s not the way to his heart, you know.”

“It’s not like he likes me anyway!” I said and left the dining room. I would continue making his life miserable. It’s not like he’ll know it was me, right?

“Bleah!” Jeremy made a face and spit out the food in his mouth. Everyone turned to look at him.

“Eww Jeremy, what was that for?” Cayden asked as he passed some tissue to Jeremy.

“The meat tasted disgusting. It had a burned taste to it,” Jeremy practically complained, and I had to stifle my laughter at the look on his face. Luckily, he didn’t seem to notice me, too busy trying to wash away the taste in his mouth as he gulped down water.

“That’s strange, mine tastes fine. Let me try yours,” Cayden said and I had just enough time to remove the magic cast on Jeremy’s meat before Cayden took a bite. Chewing it, he then said, “But it tastes fine!”

“Huh?” Not believing his brother, Jeremy took another bite. “Weird, I could swear it was burned! How come it tastes okay now?” he said, confused.

“Maybe you lied about something and karma burned your tongue off?” Cayden said, which earned him a whack on the head.

The kettle was boiling, and since Cayden and Oria were out, I knew Jeremy would be the one coming down to turn off the stove, since Amber was deemed too young to be near the appliances. Grinning, I deliberately made the handle of the kettle too hot to handle, and waited for Jeremy to make his appearance.
