(Ashley's POV)

Okay, so I didn't really have a mother in mind. But I would find one! Somehow.

Maybe I could ask a highschooler or something. Or maybe a close friend. I wasn't really sure what to do.

I'd find someone.

(AJ's POV)

I didn't believe her. She wasn't gonna find us a mom. We were doomed, absolutely doomed.

we. were. fucked.

(Ashley's POV)

I hopped in the car and drove to the train station to wait for our new mom. I had made some phone calls and settled on a kid named Janellys. We were friends so I thought maybe she could pretend even though she wasn't actually an adult yet. She was our age, actually. But she volunteered and I accepted and now she was gonna help us!

Janellys stepped off the train and I ran over to her, gave her a quick hug, and looked at her, "Okay, let's go! I'll show you the apartment and everything."

And no, I didn't say thanks. :)

(AJ's POV)

I rolled my eyes as Ashley walked in. "Find anyone?" I asked.

"Matter of fact, I did. Meet... Janellys!!!"

I sighed. "Hey."

"Hi." She waved at me. We had met when we were in 7th grade, going into 8th since it was the summer, and it was awkward. We didn't know what to do or say, we only knew each other through Ashley. We still only knew each other through Ashley. Actually, we didn't really even know each other.

And it looked like she was gonna be my 'mother'.

(Ashley's POV)

AJ looked a little on guard as I introduced Janellys. She seemed to not really like her... or maybe she was afraid. She was never good with new people, never. So she must be a little nervous... Poor thing.

I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her close and whispered in her ear, "It's okay."

She sighed and nodded, "I know..." And pulled away, going upstairs.

Things were gonna be rocky for a while, and she wasn't gonna be super happy.

Not with our new 'mother'.
