The bell rung, meaning the meeting is over. The rulers—including the king—declared that Destiny and Lucas would take on the responsibility of finding the truth about the demon king and Danielle's sudden disappearance. I can't believe the truth. Could it be true? It could just be a lie, though, something is definitely suspicious, Destiny thought to herself. She then started to walk to her room to change out of the dress, but before doing so, she stopped and waited for Alexander. She needed to talk to him, her facial expression was just as calm as ever. Her red eyes glowing brightly, the same warm smile she put on everyday, but something was going on in her head. Worry? Anger? Sadness? Who knows? Lucas saw this and started to walk toward her. Alexander finally came out of the grand ball room, he stopped and noticed that Destiny was waiting for him.
" Why are you waiting for me?" clueless Alexander asked.
" I need to talk to you," Destiny said firmly.
" Is it about your brother?" Alexander asked.
" I need you to watch over the kingdom for me! Please do this while I'm gone," Destiny said, she bowed her head forward, she was in tears. When Alexander saw this, he froze in shock. Usually, nobody would do this unless it was because they were bowing in front of royalty, apologizing deeply for a grave mistake, or the one that is most commonly used by poverty-stricken commoners, bowing because they are begging.
" You don't need to do that!" Lucas yelled from where he was standing which was really close from where they were having the conversation. He quickly went over to them and gently lifted Destiny's head up, wiping away some of the tears.
" I promise I will," Alexander said solemnly. He put his hand on his heart, almost as if he was doing a pledge.
Destiny then ran up stairs to her room where she changed out of the dress, hung it up in her closet and changed back into her normal clothing. She took a seat on her bed and then laid back, with her arms spread out, pretending that she was falling. She then closed her eyes and began her slumber.
As she was in sleeping, she heard a voice call for her, " Wake up Destiny," the voice said in a quiet whisper.
" Lucas?" she said in confusion, she yawned and then shut her eyes. She then felt someone shake her violently, which caused her to wake up. " Lucas, I swear, if that is you, you're in big trouble,". Her voice was low and her gaze—which was quite deadly—she seemed to still be sleepy after the long meeting, which was held last night.
" Morning!" Lucas said, smiling brightly. He got up and opened the blinds, the sunlight was so blinding that Destiny had to cover her eyes with her hand.
" Geez, what time is it? And when did you wake up?" she asked, yawning once again.
" I'm not sure, but maybe around dusk," he answered.
" Wow! That early?" Destiny said surprised.
" I said 'maybe',but anyways let's go eat! I'm starving!" Lucas said. Destiny got out of bed and went down the stairs. She didn't look at herself, but assuming that she could feel her wavy-untangled-hair, Lucas may have arrived earlier than expected.
" Good morning, Princess," Mary-Anne said as she bowed and started to walk to the dinning area.
" Wait! Mary-Anne!" Destiny said, chasing after her.
" Yes?" the maid asked.
" Is everything prepare for todays trip?" Destiny asked.
" Of course it is!" Mary-Anne excitedly said smiling. Destiny smiled as well and they both went off to the dining area. Whilst Lucas was walking alone, trapped in his own thoughts. Once they finally got to the dining area, Destiny was greeted by Queen Ellaina, who was drinking a cup of tea and had a game of Chess set up.
" Oh," the Queen said surprised," good morning!". She set her cup on the table, after taking a sip and proceeded to make a motion for them to sit. So they did, the servers then came in with a full entrée of baked eggs, pancakes, French toast, and some orange juice. The air was filled with a sweet smell, that was full of fresh fruit, and yogurt to please your tastebuds. " Looks amazing!" The Queen clapped her hands in delight.
" It really does!" Lucas said amazed.
*Time Skip*
" The horses are all prepared!," a man said in blue attire, he knew how to handle horses, especially the rough ones. The man tied a brown pouch to each sides of the horses saddle. Lucas got on the brown horse while Destiny was changing into the clothing for the adventure. She came running down the stairs once finished.
" I'm done!" Destiny said while running down and opening the door that led to the green fields.
" Great then!" Lucas said. He was smiling.
" Well off we go then!" Destiny said, waving goodbye to the maids. Off she and Lucas went, traveling for many, many hours. It was already lunchtime, just about noon. All throughout the journey Destiny kept reminding herself of what Queen Ellaina told her about the forest. She didn't hear what the queen had said at the last part, but it wasn't much of her concern. Destiny and Lucas came to a stop for lunch, they packed just enough for about 3-7 days, but it would depend on how they would split the food.
*before leaving*
"The forest is very dangerous, my brother has no control over it since they have fallen", Queen Ellaina began. She took a sip of the tea and put her cup back down," No one knows what goes on in there, there are some creatures that you don't want to mess with. I—personally—learned that the hard way. My past isn't as bad as yours, but it is what keeps me on track. Remember to always stay on track and new ally's will bring good help,". Destiny was called upstairs to
change as the horses were being prepared." Well I've got to go, I'll talk to you once I come back from the trip!" Destiny had said.
" I hope you stay safe... daughter of the thirteenth generation. I do wonder what your parents would think of you right now. Especially that "father" of yours," the Queen smiled happily and drank the remains of her tea. She picked up one of the pieces—the black king— and knocked down a knight before saying," Checkmate,".
*Present time in the story*
" Well, well, what do we have here?" a girl's voice asked in a questionable tone.
