Part 17/ The other Gang Leader's partner.

"Oh God,oh God,oh God!"
I run through the hall like cheetah to head to class on time.
I accidentally bump in to some people,causing them to call me names.

"Watch it shortie!" A big guy shouts.

Okay,i get it world.I'm short.
No need to mention it all the time.

I stop in front of the class for a few moments and breathe in and out.
"Oh God." I rasp before i enter and see that the teacher is in his seat.
"I am so sorry I'm late mister McConnell.There was traffic,and i missed the buss..."

"Nice of you to join us Miss Bennet.Have a seat." He says softly.
The class chuckles as i sit in my seat and try to be invisible.
Its so fun to be a sophomore in a senior class.

I take out my book and pay attention to what the teacher is explaining immediately.
We all turn our heads towards the door as a guy walk in,laughing with another guy.
"Mister Farrow? So nice of you to surprise us with your presence." The teacher says to the guy.
I think i know him.He's a senior.

"The pleasure is all mine." He replies sarcastically.
"Detention." The teacher says with a smile "Since both you and Miss Bennet like being late,you can pair up."

"What?!" I say in a louder voice than i intend too.I slowly sprawl lower on my chair so I don't seem noticeable,even though they're all staring at me.
"We are learning about the endocrineaal system,Miss Bennet.And you have a project to do in pairs.Is there a problem?" The teacher says in an angry voice.

"No,sir." I say in i sigh.
The guy smirk as he strides his way to the seat next to mine.
"You got a problem with me shortie?" He asks with a smirk.
I shake my head and continue to write things down.
"Good." He says crossing his arms and looking at the teacher.

"You can begin to talk with your partners now.Not to loud." The teacher says before he starts grading some tests.
I flip through my book and write down all the important things we have to work on.

"Aren't you a little small to be in this class.What are you like...12?" He says in a chuckle.
"Yes,i know I'm short,okay? Can we just move on! Lets get this over with!" I whisper-shout.
"Damn.Shortie's got an attitude." He says in amusement.

"I wasn't talking about your hight.I meant your actual age.What grade are you in?" He asks.
"I'm a sophomore." I say simply.
"What are you doing here,then?" He asks.

I sigh "They moved me up,because I'm good at this stuff.Biology." I say and continue working.
"Okay." He says and watches me write.

"I'm Josh,by the way." He says in a charming smile.
"Haley." I say not looking up at him.
"So what is this stuff,the
endocri-whatever." He points to the book.

"The endocrineaal system. It's basically the system that controls everything about us." I say and he nods.
"So the brain?" He says and i face-palm myself.
"No.Hormones.Hormones control everything our body does.How it grows,how it processes things." I say and he looks amused.
"I have lots of those.Would you like me to demonstrate?" He says and i roll my eyes.

"We have the hypothalamus gland.Thats the most complicated one of all.So we need to work really hard." I say and he nods.
"Where should we meet up?" He asks suddenly.

I stand for a couple of seconds and think of places we could meet.
If we go to my house,my father has a gun,and I don't wanna go anywhere with him so...
"The library.At 7pm.Tomorrow."I say and he nods.
"I'll drive you home after." He says and i nod.
