To Bae:
Can you at least lay beside me until I fall asleep? It's 2:28 and it took him about 16 minutes to text back.
From Bae:
Go to sleep. You have class in almost 4 hours. To Bae:
I can't sleep without you right now.Everyone else in here was asleep except me.
From Bae:
Here I come. Meet me outside the room.I carefully got up to walk out the room.
"Where are you going?"
Kilani ass is still up.
"Shhh. Just try to relax and sleep. All of this isn't good for the baby."
"What baby?"
"You're pregnant..."
"Yeah....yeah, you're right."
I walked out. That was strange.
I slowly closed the door. While closing it, I stepped back and felt something hard. I gasped and turned around.
"Girl, calm down," Hakeem whispered, hugging me.
"Stop fucking creeping."
"If you gonna catch an attitude, you might as well stay in there."
I wrapped my arms around his neck and tied my lips to his.
"You can't handle my attitude?"
"I can, but not with you. Your time is coming, though," he whispered while smirking.
"Where we gonna sleep at?"
He held my hand and walked us to a door down the hallway. When he opened the door, I shivered. It's so cold.
I ran to cover up and Hakeem cuddled with me.
"Talk me to sleep."
"About?"
"Why did you start dealing?"
"When I was little, my mom's boyfriend was beating my mom. She wouldn't kick him out and she refused to let me help her. He was on crack and I think some more drugs. During that time, I found Ronnie, Carlos, and the rest of them. I didn't even have to tell them what was happening because her bruises spoke for itself. I was the only one in that group that had a father figure, but he wasn't a man. One day, all of us was trying to buy some weed. I was about 14. The name of the man we got it from was Lenny, but we called him 'Bodee'. He started to act like a real father to us. Lenny saw I had things on my mind and wanted to know why. I told him about my dad and he asked if I wanted to do something about it. He gave me my first gun. A revolver since I was a beginner. Next time I saw him come home mad, I got my siblings out the house and came back, hearing my mom cry. I would never do a female like he did her. I told him to get away from her because he was choking her, determined to actually kill her this time. The look in her eyes told me to not hurt him because she loves him, but I shot anyway. Right in the chest. All us kids moved in with my aunt down the street and I needed money to help us out for financial support. We barely had enough food. Now, I got enough to live 3 lifetimes off of."
"Where's your mom?"
"Probably still chasing men and fucking with drugs."
"What about your siblings?"
"Still in Baton Rouge."
"You from Lousiana?"
"Yeah. I moved out here 8 years ago because I didn't want any chances of them in danger. I wasn't planning on falling in love and getting a girl pregnant and shit. The rest of the crew followed me here for the same reason."
