21/Ch. 30

I washed my hair and put it in a bun. I had on some grey harem sweat pants, marijuana socks, and a black crop top. When I got out the bathroom, a guard was waiting for me. He led me downstairs to the crew. Ronnie stared at me the whole time. The guard told me to sit down and I did what he said. I mean mugged everyone.

"Are y'all gonna talk or what?"

Ronnie: "You said you wanna be in the game?"

I looked over to Hakeem and muttered,"Yeah."

Ronnie: "This isn't fun and games. This shit is serious."

"I know."

Ronnie: "Everybody clear out."

Everyone left and went to a room in the back.

Ronnie: "I picture you as a little sister, but a bitchy one. Your attitude is horrible, but it shows strong character. If you're in, you gotta be dedicated. We're all family here, so you have to be willing to put your life on the line for every one of us."

"I will and you're the annoying ass brother that I never wanted, but I'll ride for all of you if y'all do the same."

Ronnie: "Are you pregnant?"

"No. There's no chance at all unless I'm the next Mary."

Ronnie: "So you're a virgin...."

"Yeah."

"I'll think about letting you in, but under one condition. I need a strong ass bitch in the crew. I don't need someone who's bitchy because of their hormones."

"What condition?"

"You can't be a virgin."

"How does virginity tie to this?"

"You might be mad or some shit because you need some. I need a hard-hearted woman in here. No softies. Even in your 'good mood' when you're still acting like a crazy ass mutherfucker over us, I'd take you more serious. It's like when girls are on their period and mad at the world. We need someone like that to hold us down, but not just for a week out of a month. We need that year 'round, but then again, you need to know when to calm down."

"Alright. I'll do it."

He got up and patted my cheek.

"Good girl."
