"I'll talk. Just don't leave."
I caught him in the hallway and grabbed onto his shirt from behind so he could wait and listen.
"Rakim.."
He slowly, dramatically turned around.
"I'm listening."
"Do I really have to say how I feel?"
"Do you really want to work this out?"
Fuck!
We went back to the room. He sat on the bed and I felt like I should stay standing.
"I don't have the highest confidence and never did, but you make me feel like I should and it feels wrong. I'm not good enough for your love. I'm not good enough for you. If it wasn't for me arguing with you the other morning, we wouldn't even have gotten into an accident. Everything about me is just fucked up. When I saw you talking to that girl earlier, it convinced me that you finally realized how messed up I am and that you decided to do better for yourself."
"Are you fucking serious? Nah, I don't think that shit at all. I've loved you for 3 years with many more to come. You're perfect to me. Your attitude can make me hate you at times, but I still stick with you. Ride or die."
"But you could do better."
"Baby, I love you. I wouldn't trade you for the universe, yet alone, a one time stand."
"....I guess."
"And I know. That girl just wanted to know where the ice machine was."
I straddled his lap and kissed him briefly.
"Nah. We can't do this."
"Of course we can't," I said annoyingly as I rotated beside him.
"You'll have your way. Just wait."
"Wait for what?! You never want to do anything with me."
"Wait until it's the right moment. I want it to be special for you."
"If you won't, I know a couple people would at Whyte Diamondz who'd bark at the chance."
"Don't fuck with me, Elle."
I placed my lips to his neck and gently sucked on it. He let me do it for a while, then he pulled away."
"Get your stuff together. I'm about to call a cab to take us to the airport."
