It was a Monday, Phil's alarm going off at 8 am sharp. He groaned, reaching over to his phone and shutting it off. He lay in his bed for a minute before pulling the covers off himself and getting out of the bed. Phil put his glasses on, exiting the room.
Phil went in the kitchen, seeing Dan sat by the large window in the living room. "What're you doing?" Phil asked.
"It's snowing..." Dan said in wonder. Phil stumbled over to the window, looking outside to see that it definitely was snowing.
"Oh, great." Phil mumbled, a thin layer of snow covering his car.
"It's pretty." Dan said softly.
Phil looked down at Dan who was sitting cross legged by Phil's feet. "Have you never seen snow before?" Phil asked.
"I have, just not often. Usually the people who summon me live in places where it never, or rarely, snows."Dan looked up at Phil. "I was once summoned to Mexico in the dead of winter. I was hoping to be able to run around in the cold snow but nope, it was almost as hot as hell there."
"Are you saying that figuratively?" Phil asked.
"No. It was almost as hot as the underworld." Dan replied with a sigh, getting up. "Why are you up so early?"
"I have work. You?" Phil said, turning on his heel to go to the kitchen.
"I never sleep, I thought I told you that?" Dan said with confusion as he followed Phil.
"Oh, yeah." Phil grumbled, not really paying attention. He opened one of the cupboards, grabbing a box of Shreddies and pouring them into a bowl.
"You work as a journalist, why can't you just work from home?"
"How did you know I was a- nevermind." Phil said, grabbing the milk and slowly pouring it into his cereal. "I suppose I could stay at home... They just prefer when people come in to work instead."
"Who's they?"
"The people who run the buisness. I usually write articles for the newspaper, or-"
"Phil your cereal." Dan pointed out.
"What?" Phil asked, looking down at his bowl. He pulled the milk away quickly, gritting his teeth. His bowl had overflown, a small puddle of milk all over the counter. "Damn!" He growled, picking up the bowl and watching as milk dripped from the bottom of the bowl onto the counter.
"Good going." Dan commented, snapping his fingers. The mess instantly dissapeared, the bowl leaving Phil's hand and now sitting on the counter. Inside was the perfect amount of cereal and milk, even a spoon beside it.
"W-hat the hell was that?!" Phil shouted, jumping when the bowl had dissapeared out of his hand.
"Did I forget to tell you that I can do that?" Dan said with a cocky look on his face.
"You should have warned me." Phil muttered.
"Oh alrigh, next time I'll try to- babe." Dan mocked Phil from the night before. Phil glared at him.
"Ass." Phil said quietly.
"What was that?" Dan teased, entering the kitchen and leaning against the counter to be almost in front of Phil.
"Nothing." Phil said quickly, picking up his bowl and going towards the kitchen door to exit. Dan blocked his way, Phil sighing and looking at him almost in a begging way.
"Could I please just eat my breakfast?" Phil asked.
"Work from home. I don't want to be alone with nothing to do." Dan replied.
