"Dan," The man named Crowley said. "Or should I say, Asmodeus?"

"What do you want." Dan said, his voice stern. Two men followed behind Crowley, their eyes the same glossy black Dan's were the night before.

Phil rushed up the stairs, a confused and concerned look on his face.

"Dan, do you know these guys?" Phil asked. Dan looked at the ground, shaking slightly.

"Come here." He said almost in a whisper. Phil looked between the three random demons standing in his household, slowly walking towards Dan.

"What the hell is happening..." Phil questioned through grit teeth.

"I knew they'd find out soon enough." Dan whispered mostly to himself.

"Find out what?"

"Just-" Dan took a sharp breath in, looking right at Crowley. "Stay out of the way, for now."

"But- why?! Why can't you explain!"

"Please, Phil." Dan sighed.

"Tick tock Asmodeus, we don't have all day." Crowley announced. He then turned to Phil, giving him a sinister smile. "Phil Lester. You made a contract with our friend Asmodeus here so you could find your soulmate, correct?"

"Y-yes." Phil stuttered.

"And as far as I know," Crowley looked back to Dan. "Having affairs with the human that summoned you was not a part of the contract."

"Dan, can you please-" One of the demons raised a hand, Phil instantaneously being shoved into the wall.

"Don't you fucking touch him!" Dan shouted. "He has a single scratch and I'll-"

"We aren't going to hurt your little boy toy," Crowley said with a smirk. "We just want to see you squirm."

Dan looked over at Phil who was crumpled on the ground next to the wall, holding his arms over his stomach.

All of them watched as Phil attempted to get up, but simply couldn't. He was too scared and hurt.

Dan scoffed, seething silently as he helped Phil get up.

"Don't worry about me, please. Things will be okay." Dan whispered in Phil's ear.

"Wow, you really did get attached to him didn't you?" Crowley teased. Dan growled, his breathing getting rapid as his eyes turned the same glossy black as the other two demons.

He spun around, some sort of black fog radiating off of his skin. Phil stayed to the side, trying to keep as far away from the demon as possible.

"One of you get the book." Crowley instructed to the demons behind him, a silver blade flashing in Crowley's palm.

Just as Dan was close enough to do anything to the other demon, the silver blade was pushed through his stomach. It stopped Dan in his tracks, the black fog dissipating and his eyes turning back to the regular hazel brown irises.

Phil's eyes widened, staring at the scene in shock. Dan slouched over, visibly trembling.

"What the hell was that for?!" Phil yelled. Crowley looked up at him, removing the blade from Dan's flesh. The demon fell to the ground, barely able to hold himself up. Crimson blood dripped from the wound, soaking the floorboards.

One of the no-named demons came from the lower floor, something crumpled in it's fist.

Phil couldn't do anything but watch as Crowley snapped, all four of the demons dissapearing from the living room, the blood from Dan's wound gone as well.

All was silent and then it hit Phil. Tears started to stream down his face as he stumbled into the basement, seeing the familiar brown book on the ground, multiple books strewn across the floor as well. He grabbed it, looking for the certain page.

144. It was gone.
