Cancer (Fuck you!)

WHY HAVE I NOT RANTED ABOUT THIS ON HERE???

Ok so if your not up to date on this irrelevant ass topic, twentyonepilots made a cover of Cancer by My Chemical Romance for Mcr's new cover album (available only by ordering the rocksound issue that comes with the CD)

Not let me start by saying,, MCR is such a respectable band. They worked hard on all thier albums and really put emotion in every single note they sang and wrote. Twentyonepilots is also a respectable band, regardless of how you feel or think about it, it's true.

As artists both these bands work HARD on EVERYTHING they create. EVERYTHING!

There is not one show that these bands throw/threw away. They held back no lyric and poured thier heart out into Every. Single. Album.

So what i can't understand is why these people are criticizing BOTH bands for something that has to do with this song especially.

Saying things like "oh twentyonepilots is better bc mcrs thingy is emo and angsty and my over-egostistical pride deprives me from showing any emotion."

STOP.
STOP IT RIGHT THERE.

MCR formed those words that make this song. So you can't say S H I T.

And before anyone starts,, I think that the original is better, but only because the original is the original ; if that even makes sense

So what. I don't drag twentyonepilots' cover down because it's a BOMB ASS COVER.

Some people don't like it bc it's not what they expected. If that's your reason then this band prolly just isn't for you.

You can't expect anything from Tyler and Josh, that's the way it is ; part of the beauty found in this band.

Other's try and say it shows no emotion.

Just bc Tyler isn't playing piano and it actually has a tight ass beat to it?

Also people are complaining about half the song was "I will not kiss you"

Tyler was brave enough to take this respected ass song and change it up so much which (I must admit) still got me shooK a f.

I wasn't expecting to pull out his special charm like that. I guess top rlly does have a way of making things sound different.

If that's not a thing that people say, it is now bc they SHOULD be saying it.

That lyric is so beautiful, probably one of the most emotional lyrics here.

For those who don't know, I'll put this lyric in perspective.

Ok, so

The black parade is about a character named patient and im not even gonna explain him bc thats some whole other level type shit. In this song, patient has Cancer and is about to die. Cancer is one of the saddest way to die. You're in constant pain and you don't know when it'll take you and sometimes the pain gets so hard you just want all the suffering to end. One of the hardest parts is hearing the doctors predictions on your death date (and counting down the days to go). Praying that some miracle will happen so your loved ones don't have to see you in such pain(turn away). Praying that you're last words to them stays in thier memory for as long as it can stay within the repressed depths of thier mind(if you say goodbye today i'd ask you to be true). Knowing that there isn't anything you can do that will stop you from dieing. Knowing that soon, and according to the doctor, very soon you'll leave your loved ones to suffer in grief of your lost memory. Patient deprives himself of affection from his loved ones as a way to cope with him leaving him after his unavoidable death in hope to dull the pain.

And you have the audacity to call this cover unemotional.

I can explain all the verses of this song in a long ass essay.

I respect Tyler so much for taking out all those lines and making them stick out like that. That shit takes courage.

Anyways im still shook
