2:06 - Shots firing. The immortals suffered through it.
We needed to use our gift for good.
Our pain led to a better life for them all.
All the meat.

2:07 - The metal immediately shot harder. That was the only fear that they could inflict on the meat. Death.

The other Immortal's.

Bullets.

Lodging into us.

Sickening.
But not fatal.

We turned to the meat. The metal didn't dare move to block them as the meat made their way to undoing their shackles. Not with the shower of bullets. Not with the risk.

Their escape.
My pride.

2:09 - "Run," I stammered. The words just escaping my mouth.

They had unshackled themselves.
They were running.

The metal didn't chase.

Maybe their metallic souls had faded. Maybe a humane heart had started to beat.

2:10 - Shots still rang through. The Immortals hung; defeated by the bullets. Blood dripping. It was blurred. There was a sudden silence.

And the world sat in that silence for a while.

Reality then slipped away....

Darkness...
