Chapter 20: Empty Promises

Hailey P.O.V

I went to my locker to put the rest of my stuff that I needed for tomorrow so I didn't have to carry them tomorrow when someone wrapped their arms around me.

I was so damn sure it wasn't Blake because he smelt different.

Now you just sound creepy.

Yeah I do. God damn it.

"Hey beautiful." That voice sounds familiar.

"Jayden?" I turned around and saw it was him then crushed him with a hug.

"Jayden! Oh my gosh!" He chuckled and hugged me back.

"Glad to know that I'm not forgotten beautiful." I blushed at that stupid nickname he gave me years ago and swatted his chest.

"How could I have forgotten about you asshole." I hugged him again.

"I really missed you."

"I missed you too."

We stood there for quite awhile then I pulled back.

"What are you doing back here?" I asked him.

"Uncle Jones said that Tyler is back."

A shiver ran down my spine once his name was mentioned and I almost blacked out.

"T-Tyler?"

"Stop it please!" His evil chuckle sent shivers down my spine.

"Why should I? You are just a lying slut that promised that you'll marry me!" He slapped me which caused my head to snap to the side.

"Tyler... I promised you because I loved you! I promised you before you kidnapped me and raped me and tortured me!" I yelled at him as tears slid down my cheek.

"Don't raise your voice at me honey. YOU STILL LOVE ME!"

I shook my head and brought myself back to reality.

"W-When did he come back?" My voice cracked a little as I said that.

"I'm not sure but it was recently."

He shook his head and carrassed my hair softly.

"I don't want anything to happen to you again. You didn't deserve being treated like that and I'm not letting him get you again. You hear me beautiful? This is my promise to you." He gently kissed my forehead and I nodded.

"T-Thank you so much Jayden. I love you."
As soon as I said that he flashed me a full-blown smile and I couldn't help but to smile back with teary eyes.

I fucking love Jayden. He had been there for me in so many occasions. He was my awesome protective cousin and I love him so much.

"I love you too." He hugged me again then pulled back.

"I've to go now. Your dad will kill me if I didn't report now."

"Go on now." I chuckled then he ran off.

I continued packing my books in my locker then another pair of strong arms wrapped around my waist as his chocolate scent wafted in my nose making my mouth water.

"Blake." I grinned and turned around in his arms to hook my arms around his neck.

"Princess." He grinned back and snuggled his face at the crook of my neck.

"I missed you." He kissed my neck and I giggled.

"You just saw me this morning you attached idiot."
