MATTEO

The closer she got, the closer I called her mine.

I extended my hand and gladly, Castillo gave it to me. She grabbed with her feather-like grip. I moved her veil back immediately to see her beautiful eyes and a smile magnifying on her face.

She was truly my angel, my everything and I could not help to fall for her all over again. When our eyes connected it was like everything ceased and the world revolved around us.

Everything she touched turned into gold.

The priest started to talk, but I couldn't hear him when my beautiful bride was in front of me. I was so lost in her that nothing could keep me away from her.

But I was brought back to reality, when I heard the priest uttered, "Matteo, do you take Dahlia to be your lawfully wedded wife and promising to love?"

I looked back at her, "I do."

Dahlia kept her gaze locked with mine with a big smile and I heard the priest ask the same question. She answered and that melted my heart, "I do."

"You can kiss the bride."

I grabbed her waist and pulled her towards my chest. She smiled and I descended my head slowly. She closed and I couldn't help feeling the adrenaline of my heart when our lips touched.

Her lips were so warm against my skin as they reminded me of soft, little fluffy pillows; and for that moment, reminded me of fairy floss. I couldn't stop my heart from pounding in my chest.

My blood flowed rapidly down my cheeks, making my face as red as ever. I felt her pulling up high to my shoulders, where she entwined them with my soft dark hair. My hands tighten at her waist while pulling her closer to my chest.

She was mine, and I was hers.

We slowly stopped and looked into each other's eyes and smiled and I whispered in her ear, "I love you."

She smiled and said as I pulled back to look into her eyes, "I love you too."

I looked around and saw everybody already inside for the party. My brothers and father were the only ones that attended the wedding. But as I was Head of the Donati Famiglia, I had the responsibility to host a wedding reception. I had decided that I would give an intimate wedding and later meet the guests.

I was so mesmerised by her eyes that I almost didn't notice that she was wearing my mother's necklace. I was about to ask when she said nervously, "Castillo gave it to me. I hope tha--"

I said softly and she smiled back, "It suits you."

Dahlia, my one true love, my forever.
