Deirdre and I arrive in class on time, and we sit down in our seats. Of course, Violet moved her seat next to Amanda's, and they're already talking up a storm. The good news is Deirdre's desk was moved next to mine, so now we sit next to each other. Talk about good luck.
Class begins and everyone sits down in their seats. Jake W. keeps looking over in my direction, but he's not looking at me, he's looking at Deirdre. She's too busy to notice though, so when class ends I tell her about it. "Dude, Jake was staring at you during class." I say to her. "Seriously?" She says. "Yea, I saw him. He looks pretty interested in you.." my voice trails off.
"See? I told you!" Deirdre exclaims. She walks out of class and I chase after her. She suddenly stops by a big flyer on the wall near the cafeteria. I almost ran into her. "Hey, why did you-" I stop talking when I see the flyer. It read:

WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!"Wow.. you gonna go?" She asks me. I quickly look at her then shrug my shoulders. "Depends." I say. She smirks. "Depends on if Hudson asks you or not?" I cover my mouth and blush a little. "N-no, I might be doing something that day, I don't know." I say quietly. She laughs at me. "Okay, whatever. See you at 3rd period!" She says as she runs off to her next class.
2nd period flys by, next comes 3rd period. 3rd period is the class that I got in trouble in for the note, even though it wasn't really my fault. But I do get to take that class with Deirdre, so I can't complain. Now that I think about it, Deirdre is kinda the only friend I have. I definitely need to make some new friends.
3rd period is a breeze, the only hard part was avoiding eye contact with the teacher. He might still be mad about the whole "passing notes" incident. I'm still kinda mad at Doug for that, but I can't really blame him, he did thank me for saving him from embarrassment.
As soon as the bell rings, all the boys (like always) sprint out of the room screaming "LUNCH!" I think one of them started dabbing as they were running to their locker. It's always kinda funny though, boys are so weird. Deirdre and I speed walk out of the classroom and go to our lockers. We grab our lunches and nearly sprint down the stairs to the lunchroom.
We sit in the same place that we did yesterday, at the table with all of the other girls. It's about 5 minutes into lunch when Emilio comes over to me and taps me on the shoulder again. "Go out into the hallway." He says quiet enough so only I can here. I nod and tell Deirdre that I'll be right back and that I'm just going to the bathroom.
I walk out into the hallway and sure enough, Hudson is waiting for me, and he doesn't look happy. I slowly walk over to him and hug myself. "So.. what's up?" I say casually. He sighs and looks at me with sad eyes. "Listen.. there's, um, something that you should know." He says.
"What?" I ask, worried. "Um..." he looks down at his shoes then back up at me. "I.. I don't.." he takes a deep breathe then opens his mouth to say something, but nothing comes out. "It's okay, you can tell me, it's fine." I say calmly. He looks at me then opens his mouth, and this time, words do come out, but I kinda wish they didn't.
"I don't like you anymore."
This awful deep pain in my chest formed at the sound of the words. I felt like I was gonna get sick. "What..?" I say in almost a whisper. "I said, I don't like you anymore. I can't." He says as he takes a step away from me. "You don't mean that, right..?" I say as my voice cracks. He doesn't say anything. "Right..?" I whisper.
I take one step towards Hudson and try to hug him, but he pushes me away. "Stop." He says to me. "I don't like you anymore." I can feel the tears coming. Right before I start crying, I burst out laughing with wet, hot tears streaming down my face. "Hannah, are you.. okay?" Hudson asks me, looking concerned.
"Yeah." I say normally, while still laughing up a storm. "Why are you laughing?" He says while smiling a little bit. "Oh, nothing, it's just kinda funny how I actually thought that you loved me like I loved you." I say, and saying that broke my heart, but it was true.
Hudson's face turns into a frown. "Hannah.. I'm-" I stop him. "No, it's okay. I'm going back to the lunchroom now." I say as I walk away. For a second, I kinda felt okay. Then, I remembered what Hudson said, and the same pain in my chest comes back, along with a big overwhelming feeling of sadness.
I sit down and all the girls gasp. "Hannah! What happened?! Why are you crying?" Deirdre exclaims. "Oh, im crying?" I say, not actually aware that I was starting to cry again. "Yes! What's wrong?" She asks. "Nothing serious, just a broken heart, that's all." I shrug my shoulders. "A what?" She asks me.
"A broken heart."
