(Mia)

I kept walking towards home as tears free-fell down my face. It was as if they had a mind of their own. Thank the Gods the streets were empty.

The sound of thunder filled the skies as it started drizzling. I stomped my foot and looked up to the sky and cried out, "MY LIFE IS NOT A MOVIE!"

A car came to a halt next to me. The driver pulled down the window of the car and I heard Aaron's voice say, "Mia get in the car."

It was raining cats and dogs by now. "No." I said firmly.

"Mia please. Just get in." He pleaded. He was driving as per my pace by now.

"Why are you following me Aaron? Just leave me alone." I said stubbornly.

"I'm not leaving without you. Either you get in my car, or I'm going to drive by your side the whole time."

"Why are you doing this? Why can't you just let me be?" I asked finally turning to him.

"Because I meant what I said in there. You are my friend Mia." He said sincerely.

"Really? Because what just happened in there didn't feel like friendship to me." I said sobbing.

"Mia, please just get in here. Let me explain. Please."

I looked at him and saw nothing but concern and sincerity etched on his face. And so, I did something against my better judgement. I got in his car.

We drove silently to my house. I was thankful for the silence, because I wasn't really in the mood for talking. I finally got my tears to stop.

We pulled up to my driveway and neither of us showed any intention to get down. We'd finally arrived at the point where we'd have to have the conversation.

"Thank you for getting me home." I said weakly. I was completely emotionally exhausted.

"Anytime. Like I said Mia, you're my friend." He replied gently.

"Then why?" I asked him, tears brimming my eyes again.

"Why what?" He asked me, feigning ignorance.

"Why didn't you support me in there? Moreover, why did you stop me from defending myself?" I asked him.

"Because you do not know the lengths she can go to Mia. She can drag you down like a piece of feather. The last girl that stood up to her, she had to change schools. In fact she's still on depression meds Mia.' He said sadly. "And..... I can't have that for you." He whispered the last part softly as he rested his head against the steering wheel.

I looked at him, carefully studying him. "Did her friends not stand up for her?" I asked.

He lifted his head off the steering wheel and looked at me. "Well, she basically came from a group of nobodies Mia. Her friends weren't stupid enough to stand up against Moirah as well." He said.

"Then why didn't you? Why didn't you help her stand up to Moirah?" I asked him curiously.

His eyes got a distant look into them as he thought about my question. He opened and closed his mouth a couple of times but no sound came out of it.
