(Aaron)
"You did WHAT?" Kyle and Trisha asked me in unison.
"What were you thinking man?" Kyle asked me with a hand on his forehead. I'd just finished telling them about me asking Mia out to the fair.
"I wasn't!" I said putting both hands on my eyes. I never asked girls out this easily. It just wasn't me. And I definitely did not ask girls like Mia out.
"Did you tell Shane about it?" Trisha asked me cautiously.
"No, but there is a good chance that she might have informed him about it. Oh man! I did not think about Shane." I said. I just wanted to scream. He was going to be so mad.
We were currently at Kyle's house and it was almost four days after I'd asked her to the fair. And it didn't look like Shane had any idea about me asking her out. So, I was hoping that was a good sign.
We heard someone vigorously banging up the front door. The three of us looked at each other in alarm.
"Are your parents supposed to be home yet?" I asked Kyle.
"No. Moreover they have their own keys. They wouldn't knock." He replied.
"Ummmm....... I think I should go and check." Trisha pitched in. I thought that was a good idea. He would never hurt her. And plus, she could do whatever she did to divert his attention.
She went out of the living room to open the door. After an intense half minute where I thought that I'd almost die, Trisha walked in with a some-what relieved look on her face.
Behind her I saw Mia walk in with a horror-stricken face. She was so frikkin' beautiful. NO AARON! This is why you are in trouble. I chided myself.
"You need to go hide somewhere where no one will ever find you." Mia told me seriously. "He knows."
"F*ck!" I heard Trisha swear. She never swore, so when she did, it meant trouble.
"Why'd you tell him?" Kyle asked her incredulously.
"Do I look like a retard to you? I would never tell him! He'd kill both of us." She replied angrily. "I told Kylie, who told Ariana and Ariana may have spilled the beans." She said holding her head. "Oh, he's gonna be so angry. I knew you were nothing but trouble." She glared at me.
"Hey! You were under no obligation to say yes! You could've said no! You should've in fact. But you just couldn't keep away from me, could you?" I told her.
"Well, I wasn't the one who initiated it! And you shouldn't have asked me if you didn't want me to say a yes." She said walking towards me. We were practically screaming at each other now.
"SHUT UP! Both of you!" Trisha screamed at us. We heard the front door bang open. "Jesus Christ! When will I remember to lock doors?" She mumbled nervously.
We all looked at the doorway tensely. A second later we saw a very angry Shane standing at the doorway. "You f*king son of a b*tch." He yelled as he came rushing towards me. I stood there completely frozen in place. Where were my reflexes when I needed them?
"Shane! back off!" Mia said as she came between the two of us.
"Oh, I'll deal with you later." He said as he tried shoving her aside. But she was stronger than she looked. She stood her ground.
"No you wont. Seriously, back off." She told him sternly.
"Mia you don't know him like I do! You don't know what he's capable of. He's--" He started rambling angrily before Mia cut him off.
