(Aaron)

I sat in my car staring out the window at the wooden door with gold embellishments on it. It had a very Aslan looking lion head door-knocker on the top middle of it. I heard my phone buzz and looked at it.

The text was from Kyle.

Kyle: Stop being such a creep. She won't magically appear if you keep staring.

I looked out my window and at my best friend's house. Kyle and Mia were neighbours, so obviously he could see me. I spotted him smirking down at me from his bedroom window. I rolled my eyes at him and right then my phone rang. I looked down to see who it was and saw Mia's name flashing.

"Hello?" I spoke cautiously. I hope she hadn't caught me staring at her door.

"Hi Aaron. Umm.... There is a tiny.... Issue." I heard Mia say shakily. I could hear a child screaming in the background. Most likely her brother.

"What's wrong?" I asked confused.

"Umm.... Is there a way that you can maybe find another Belle for yourself? I sort of.... Am in a puddle here." I could hear her patience wear off slowly as the child upheld his cries. Also, we were going as Belle and the Prince. She wanted me to go as the Beast, something to do with my inner self apparently, but I'd told her that I was either going as the Prince or nothing at all.

"Are you bailing on me Walker? Are you scared you won't be able to resist me?" I asked jokingly. I could practically see her rolling her eyes at me.

"No, you idiot! My parents were suddenly called in to work tonight, and so they can't take Leo to the fair. That leaves me with the responsibility of taking Leo. And he won't take no for an answer. So, could you maybe.... Find another Belle for you?" She asked hurriedly.

I kept shut for a moment mulling over the situation. And then I said something that I hoped I wouldn't regret. "Bring him along with us!" I suggested.

This time there was silence from her side. "You alive Walker?" I asked when she wouldn't reply.

"I don't think you are understanding the situation Aaron. You hear the screams in the background, that is what a vicious little creature he can be. That is not always fun. And we'll be taking him to a fair, which means he'll have plenty of sweets. Now imagine this on a sugar high. Now do you understand?" She explained, enunciating each word as she spoke. Honestly, I loved kids. And I'd met Leo. He was a very hyper-active kid, but he was a hella fun too.

I sighed as I said, "I'm waiting outside your house Mia. Come out when you're ready. Unless you are trying to avoid me under your brother's pretext." I smiled as I knew that she would definitely come now.

"Fine. We'll be there in ten minutes. You can wait inside if you want." She said.

"Nah I'm good. Hurry up now. We ain't got all day." I hurried her.

After precisely ten minutes the front door opened. This was one of the many things that set Mia apart from other girls. She kept her time properly.

Leo waddled out the house, in a Peter Pan costume, followed by Mr. Walker. I got out of the car to greet him.

"Hello Aaron." He greeted me warmly. "You look good. I'll go get Leo's car seat." And then he added sternly, "Also, bring them home by ten kid, or you will pay for it."
