Della's POV:
Day 1

"Are you two serious?" Eugena yells.
"You guys seem as if you have no emotion. That was obviously Paul!" Everyone falls silent as Eugena yells. "We need to go help! At least some of us do!" She continues. I stand up and everyone stares at me, confused.
"Eugena has a point... We need to help.."
My dad stands, Ralph follows.

"Eugena and Della are right. We need to split up." Pa tells us.
"Ralph will take one group, another can stay here with me." I look at my father, thinking about how terribly wrong this could go.

I keep to myself, ignoring what I know will fail. Izzy stands up. Justin follows after her. One by one, Shay and Maggie- who had just made their way over here volunteer. Michal stands up too. I try but my Dad gives me one look, telling me not to. I huff as Mahalia starts talking to Shay.

"Shay.. Maybe you shouldn't go? You're not feeling that well are you?" Mahalia's eyebrows furrowing in confusion as Izzy holds her sister back defensively.

"I want to help find Paul.. I feel bad for letting him go." She tells her. Ralph nods, walking over to the tent and pulling both his camera bag and his backpack out.

As Izzy and the rest of the group head out I walk along side her until they get to the edge of camp. I hug her quickly.

"Come back okay? Don't you die." She rolls her eyes.

"This isn't some Wattpad story written by the youth. We're going to be fine. We're going to find Paul and we're all going to come back alive." I frown, it seems exactly that way...

"Isabella! Hurry up!" Justin yells from along the path. Izzy looks at him before hugging me and rushing off. I watch her run down the path and meet up with the group.

She'll be back...

I walk over to our tent and see Eugena sitting there, looking through her bag. I walk up to her and sit in front of her.

"I'm sorry for yelling at you.." I inform her, trying to make her less angry.

"Sure, you are. You meant everything you said." I look at my friend, even though I know that what she said was correct I try to get back on Eugena's good side.
"I'm really sorry, actually. I just wanted to help Izzy out.." She looks at me before going back and digging through her bag.

"Eugena." I try and continue.

"Della, I'm worried, I'm worried for Paul's safety, the safety of the youth. I'm scared. It's only been a day and I already feel in danger." I look at Eugena, she shakes her head and zips up her backpack.
"I don't know.. It's stupid.." I pay her on the back, completely understanding her dilemma.

"It's not stupid. I feel the same way.."

For the next couple of hours we did our lesson and played games. My mind would not stop wandering to the group that had left before.
Are they hungry? Are they cold? Are they thirsty? Have they found Paul? Have they lost anyone else? When will they be back? Will they be back?

Eugena nudges me and motions towards my Dad as he bows his head and starts prayer. My mind starts wandering again before he even begins.

What if they all die? What if they leave us because they saw something? It seems like forever before my dad finally finishes prayer. We all stand and walk away from each other, into our own little groups. I follow Eugena and Wesley since Izzy isn't here.

We all talk and everyone starts to grow tired, despite the fact it's only 8:45. I start to walk over to my assigned tent. I sit there looking out into the woods- an eerie feeling coming over me. I felt as if eyes were all over me. I try to shake off the feeling and close the tent flap, laying my head down on my pillow. I reminisce the day, thinking made me want to forget everything I had witnessed in the twenty-some hours that we had been on this trip.
