Her fingers tingle, as they hold tight to the handle of her duffle bag.

This was really happening.

"How much longer?" She asks the Uber diver, feeling antsy.

"Not much, ma'am."

Not much was too much. All she wants to do is fall onto Killian and wrap him in her arms, to feel his wrapping around her just as tightly. The last thing she wants to be doing is sitting here in the back of a stranger's car.

Her mind raced with thoughts. How was she going to tell him all of this? Would he even believe her when she told him that she loved him after what she did...

No.

She stops her own train of thought before it goes into dangerous territory. There would be only positive scenarios thought up on this never ending car ride.

Even still, she can't help but think up a few heart breaking scenes in which Killian opens the door only to slam it right back in her face. (There may have also been a very irrational one where he opened the door with a leggy brunette on his arm and a sneer on his face.) She quickly pushes both of them away though. Replacing them with more favorable images of traveling the world together, a dark haired baby squished in between the two of them.

This car ride had to end before she jumped out and just ran to Killian's place.

"Um, I know I already asked this, but how much farther do you think it is now?"Gosh, she felt like such a child. Asking "are we there yet" every five minutes.

"It should only be about ten more minutes," He paused, turning to her with a slight scowl. "Ma'am."

Leave it to her to embarrass herself completely in just a few short moments.  This had to be a new record. She'd known him for all of 15 minutes and already had him highly irritated with her.

Maybe she'd just have to get used to that. Being in love seemed to do nothing but make her look like an idiot so far and she had a feeling it wasn't going to stop there.

Thoughts of Killian surface again. Or rather, memories. A silly smile is on his face as he sits beside her, in place of the Uber driver.

"You have got to learn some patience if you're going to be Neal's wife, love. He's got too short a temper to put up with your constant 'are we there yet's."

"Yeah, whatever. He will learn to deal with it."

She can't help the silly smile that curls on her own lips.

Neal never did learn how to deal with it, but Killian did.

Killian, she was now realizing, was always ever-patient with her where Neal was not. And she finds herself longing to go back and understand that sooner. To put an end to her charade right then and there.

But the timing just wasn't right. All of this was happening right when it needed to, whether that made things easier or not.

More time together would have been nice of course but when it came down to it, she hadn't been ready for Killian and all that being with him would push her to admit yet and neither had he.
