Through Jake's bloodshot eyes he looked at Skye.
"What?"
"I know about the baby. Maybe she didn't tell me but I know Jessie enough to know what happened between you two. But you shouldn't have let her just let go."
"What do you want me to say, Skye? I told you I love her. Isn't that enough. She hasn't talked to me in forever. She can't even look at me without catching her breath. Every time she looks at me she thinks of the baby and I can't see her in that kind of pain. It's just not that easy."
I walked into the room and stopped.
"I love you, Jake."
