The ride back home was nothing short of silent and awkward. Andre sat in the back seat dead center between prince and I. His eyes were burning a hole into me from the rear view mirror. Prince just sat and stared at the world passing him by out of his window and would let out an occasional annoyed moan with every other exhale. I could tell the mood was different because Andre wasn't trying to flirt with me and Prince wasn't talking about his bands set list for Saturday night. I didn't say a word to either of them. I just stayed silent and drove the car back to Andre's house to drop off the boys. For some reason I couldn't keep the kiss Wilson planted on my face from invading my memory. The softness of his lips was like a cloud of heaven and a warm ray of sunshine. Keeping my inner school girl contained until I was alone I turned on the radio to distract my thoughts. When we finally reached Andre's block I slowed the car down to pull up to the curb and let them out. Once the car stopped Prince opened the door and got out of the car with Andre right behind him. I thought the door was going to close but Prince got back into the front seat.

"Ummmmm.......don't you live here?" I asked him puzzled at the fact that he's still sitting in the car.

"I'm going with you. Drive." He said in a snippy attitude.

"Right away your highness!" I snapped sarcastically and put the car back in drive.

We pulled away from the curb and drove the 3 minutes back to my house. Parking the car in the drive way I turned the car off and pulled the key out of the ignition and turned my body to face my annoying best friend.

"What's eaten you today? Your acting like somebody just came up to you and took a piss on your pancakes or something!"

He cut his eyes at me like I had said something crazy but he knew I had a right to feel the way I did.

"Why you got this guy making you stupid? He's a fucking clown." He hissed.

"Ya know Nelson if I didn't know any better I'd think you're jealous!"

His head turned abruptly to me as his wide eyes caught my gaze.

"OF WHAT!?!?!? HIM!?!?!?" He laughed from his throat.

"Uh yeah! You wouldn't be acting like this if it were anybody else but because it's Wilson you act like you have to try to protect me from him. Lay off and grow up already!"

"Regan you know how I feel about his ass. I don't like him! I don't like him around you! I don't like what he's even about! Did he tell you what happened to the last girl?"

"I don't care about the last girl! I'm only worried about me right now!"

"I know you don't but you should. He left Mariah Moss in the dust and you don't care!"

"Well maybe if Mariah Moss wasn't such a hoe then maybe he wouldn't have left her."

Prince's eyes popped wide open as the truth fell from my lips.

"Who told you about that?" He asked in a now quieter tone.

"Her sister did. Mariah cheated on him with his best friend all school year and he found out a week before the spring dance."

He barely knew what to say. We just sat there until I got tired of sitting in silence.

"Yeah Prince. Thanks for trying to talk me out of seeing Wilson. You really are a great friend." I snapped.

I got out of the car slamming the door as hard as I could behind me. I went up the front steps and unlocked the door when I could hear the passenger side door close and footsteps quickly running up to me.

"Mouse come on don't be like that."

I ignored him and went inside and closed the door in his face. Throwing my book bag on the couch I went straight to the kitchen to find something to eat. The front door opens and closes and in walked the self proclaimed  relationship guru himself.

"You weren't invited in Nelson." I said grabbing a can of sofa from the fridge.

"Stop being such a bitch and talk to me."

"The ones who's being the bitch right now is you. Bitch."

He laughed and snatched the can from me and opened it.

"Don't you dare." I yelled as I watched him pop the top on the can.

No sooner did I try to reach for the can of soda he swigs it down in just four big gulps. I was ready to start swinging.

"You got anymore ginger ale in there?" He said with a big smile like he had just won the gold in the Olympics.

My anger caused me to push him hard until he stumbled backwards into the kitchen table.

"You fucking sick jerk! I hate you!" I screamed and stormed to my room.

Prince thought that me being angry was always funny to him. He reveled in getting a rise out of me. Most times it didn't work but if he pushed long enough he would get his wish. I got to my room and plopped down on my bed face first into my pillow. He really gets on my nerves. I don't even know why we're still friends. I turned over to get a breath from fresh air when Prince was standing at my bedroom door.

"What are you doing up here?" I scoffed

Prince just stood there and smiled as he looked at me. His eyes looked like they were scanning my body. It felt weird. It was close to making me uncomfortable.

"Doubling up on those donuts are we?" He asked with a grin on face.

"What?" I asked him sharply.

"Like I said earlier. Nice ass."

I grabbed my pillow and covered myself before sitting up.

"Stop looking at me perv!" I yelled as he walked in my room and sat down on the bed next to me.

"Why? If Wilson can look why can't I?" He said leaning into my face.

"Will you move your being weird!" I said pushing him away.

"You know you like it."

His voice was a lot deeper than normal and his eyes has a certain sparkle in them that I've never seen. It was odd that he's acting like a weirdo. What the hell is this all about?
