Covering myself from the neck down with a blanket I leaned against my headboard as he finally decided to make himself comfortable on my bed and taking my pillow from behind me. His smile was bigger than his hair. It was annoying but how can you hate him. He was adorable for a troll.
"SO! I heard you had a little thing going on with some little girl in Chanhassen. What was that all about?"
Prince looked like he wanted to talk about it but he didn't want to really say what was going on. I already knew from Andre but I decided to let him fill me in on his own. That was IF e was willing to talk about it at all.
"What little thing are you talking about mama?" Prince asked as innocently as he could.
That was not going to work on me. For as long as I've known him there was nothing innocent about this kid at all.
"Don't play dumb with me Nelson you know what I'm talking about. Your little summer slob down with a 14 year old girl."
"It wasn't a slob down. You make it sound so gross. I just gave her a few lessons."
I raised an eyebrow and gave him a smirk of disbelief.
"Mhmm. A few lessons on how to get laid."
"Someone sounds jealous."
"HA! What do I need to be jealous for? You need to start seeing girls your own age. Pretty soon you're gonna look like a creepy old dude scoping out young girls from his front porch trying to lure them to your house playing your guitar."
Prince let out a deep laugh as he rolled off my bed onto the floor and reached for my Atari controller.
"Funny you should say that. She told me that I looked liked a Van Man once."
"Hmm! Smart girl. Maybe she'll be smart enough to leave your ass alone before she messes around and gets her feeling hurt."
"Ok. Now I know your jealous." He said in a deep voice.
"No I'm not. Believe me you'll know when I'm jealous."
"Like right now."
"Shut up! I'm not jealous!"
"Prove it. Talk about something else."
"Y'all screwing each other?"
"See you couldn't even change the topic."
Prince dropped the controller on the floor and stood up.
"Jealous." He teased.
"Oh fuck you. Keep your little girlfriend. What's her name?" I asked him putting my pillow that he took back behind me.
"Why are you worried about it? Don't you have Wilson to think about?"
The burn in his words was like stepping on a rusty nail in the middle of the night barefoot.
"You know what I do have Wilson to think about. Which reminds me I need to find something to wear for our date Friday night."
I happily made my way to my closet pushing Prince out of the way.
"The word is excuse me woman." He snapped.
"You're excused man." I hissed back.
Prince sucked his teeth and sat back down on my bed as I rummaged through my closet looking for the perfect outfit. There was nothing but the sound of the hangers running along the pole quickly as I continued looking. The sound would soon be joined by the sound of Prince's voice.
