Chapter 4

Justin's POV

Ariana sped past me and went down the hall, towards the stairs. She's damn wrong if she thinks I won't go after her. I caught her right when she was about to go down the staircase.

"Ariana wait! You're overreacting!" I yelled.

Her left hand gripped the railing, steadying her as if she was about to fall. She turned around and looked at me with her glazed, bloodshot eyes. Disappointment and pain flashed across her face making me feel like shit. What the fuck is wrong with me?

"Have a nice birthday, Justin!" she yelled, her voice cracking in the process.

She descended down the stairs, but when she reached the bottom she just collapsed. People that were standing nearby stopped and stared at what was going on, but went back to what they were doing without a second thought. This was normal at parties. People passing out, I mean.

I wrapped my arms around Ariana's waist and picked her up "C'mon," I muttered under my breath, as I slung her over my shoulder and carried her up the stairs. Once I got to my room, I pushed back the cover on my bed and gently laid her on it.

I noticed I half empty cup sitting on my night stand. Lip-prints that matched the shade of Ariana's lipstick were placed all around the rim of the cup. I picked it up and smelled the contents. Definitely laced with something.

I turned around to see Veronica and her friend standing next to the wall behind me. Both hadn't said anything this whole time. Though, Stefanie's face was flushed and she looked genuinely embarrassed. Veronica stood there with her arms crossed picking at her acrylic nails.

I picked the drink up and pointed at it. "Is this you or your friend's drink?" I asked just to make sure I wasn't wrong about it being Ariana's.

They both shook their heads. Veronica rolled her eyes and huffed.

"Are we gonna do it or not?" She snapped.

Stefanie, who was staring the floor prior to Veronica's question, looked up. Her bloodshot eyes examined my face for an answer.

Veronica might've been sober, but I know Stefanie surely wasn't. Her fidgety composure gave away her drunken state. I few moments ago, I wouldn't have given a fuck. I mean, she's had drunk sex before, but what the fuck was I thinking?

Maybe she has, but that doesn't excuse me for almost taking advantage of her. I don't know how she would've felt tomorrow morning or later this night, after the fact.

I shook my head, disgusted at myself for the things that were gonna go down with someone that was intoxicated and didn't know what she was doing.

"I think you should take your friend home, Veronica. If you cared about her the least, you wouldn't have brought her up to the stage. She's drunk," I said, genuinely concerned about Stefanie.

"I am fucking aware of what I'm doing, for your information. I just had a few drinks and smoked a little, that's all," Stefanie said, slowly making her way over to where I was standing. Veronica following shortly after her, a smirk playing on her face.

Stefanie placed her hand on my chest and brought it up to my shoulder. Her lips kissed up my neck to my ear.

"Don't make assumptions, baby," she whispered seductively.

They both giggled and started kissing down my chest. I was fed up with their bullshit. How could they be so blind to what just happened, when it literally took place in front of their eyes.

I took a step back and pushed them off me. "Enough! I need you guys to leave my room. Now."

They stood up straight, but didn't move. A hint of shock was evident on their face.

"Did you not hear me?" I questioned.

"Get out." I spat harshly.

They flinched at my tone, but scoffed and quickly left. I walked over to Ariana to check if she was awake, but her eyes were closed and she was snoring. Cutie.

A smile crept onto my face. I didn't realize how much I missed her until this moment. Many nights, before we lost our connection, she'd spend here in this room underneath my covers. Falling asleep in the middle of a movie that'd be playing.

I always teased her about it calling her an early sleeper, and she always got mad and tried her hardest to stay awake. She never could, though. I pulled the covers onto her body, tucking her in.

I went downstairs and looked at the party that was still in full swing. Teenagers scattered around the house grinding, drinking, smoking, making out, playing games that would result to something mischievous. The turnout had been bigger than I expected. It's a shame I have to cancel it

I saw my friend Tyson approach from the other side of the room. He reached for a hug and I gladly gave him on.

"Hey man," he said smiling.

"What's up? Enjoying the party, I see." I chuckled.

"Yeah, shit! It's dope! It's one of the best I've been to in a while, but listen. Ariana, y'know the one that hung around with us, was lookin' for you," Tyson said raising his eyebrow.

"Yeah, I found her in my room, yo, she's passed out," I said running a hand through my hair."That's why I need everyone out of here ASAP."

"Damn. I got you, Justin. Don't worry. I'll get everyone out and I'll leave too," he laughed.

I smirked. "My man."

We did a handshake and gave each other a pat on the back, before going our own ways. I heard the music stop as I went up the stairs.

"EVERYONE GET OUT! THERE'S COPS COMING!" Tyson's voice boomed through the speaker system.

I smirked and went inside my room, shutting the door behind me.

People rushed to get out of my house. I laughed. Dumbasses.

I watched the chaotic scene from my backyard, as everyone panicked and even climbed the fence of my backyard to get out. My house was a fucking mess and if I don't have it cleaned before my mom gets back from her business trip, I'm screwed.

After everyone left, I went inside my room, fully closing the balcony doors. Ariana was still knocked out, sadly. She'll probably wake up tomorrow morning and freak out over where she's at, but at least she's not in a stranger's bed.

I looked at the present she gave me. It was flat and rectangular, probably a book. Not that I hated reading, but if it was a book, how would she have known the type of shit I read. Especially since we haven't talked in a long time. I unwrapped the gift. My eyes widened at the sight of what she gave me. My smile grew bigger and bigger. It was the scrapbook.
