We drove home in silence. But, this time, the silence was surprisingly comfortable. After what happened earlier, I should've felt awkward around him. However, I didn't. It was strange, but it was the good kind of strange.

We arrived at my home earlier than my ten o'clock curfew. Hand in hand, we took our time walking towards the gate. The contact was surprisingly comfortable, too. And before I let myself in, he planted a chaste kiss on my forehead. Then, we bade each other good night.

"I love you," he'd said again.

My heartbeat quickened upon hearing those three words from him. It seems that it will be my instant reaction everytime he says them.

"And don't think I'd stop telling you that." He added with a grin, which made my heart smile.

The moment I stepped inside the house, Mom immediately asked me how my 'lunch date' went.

"How was it?"

I was fozen on the spot. There's no way I'm telling Mom I just kissed someone! So, before she could sense anything odd, I composed myself and answered her casually.

"It was okay," I said. "It was fun."

"Oh." She seemed to buy it. "I'm glad you had fun."

"Thanks," I said. "I'll go to my room now."

"By the way, there's coffee in the kitchen, in case you feel like having some."

I admit. I'm a coffee addict! I love coffee so much. And because Mom knows this addiction of mine, she buys me decaf and low-acid coffee. Decaf for the evenings before going to bed, and low-acid for I have an acidic stomach.

What can I say? She spoils me. Thank you, mother!

"Thanks, Mom."

After making my coffee, I went inside our room. I was greeted by a very probing Julia.

"So," she started, with a smart-ass grin on her face. "Shall we start from the beginning?"

"Beginning of what?" I said, acting coy while taking a sip from my cup of decaf.

"Of everything that happened to you today! C'mon! Tell me everything!"

"There's not much to tell."

"What do you mean there's not much to tell?? What happened?? Spill, Tiffany! Or I'll wring the truth out of you!" She threatened.

"Nothing interesting happened," I said. I'm gonna keep this act up until she goes crazy.

"I don't believe you."

We had a stare down first. Unfortunately, I never win against Julia in a stare down.

"Okay! Fine!" I sighed. "I'll tell you everything."

"I win!" She smiled triumphantly.

"Just promise me you'll keep it down. Okay?"
