I wake up and the familiar pain threatens to crush my chest. Ever since the battle, I've been a different person. If I'm being honest, I started to change during sixth year... when I was given my task. Since I was forced to let my crazy aunt and a few other death eaters into Hogwarts, I haven't been the same. What makes it worse is the way she looked at me when I left. I know that I'd committed a crime that was unforgivable and I had ruined any chance of having a relationship with her. It broke me.
My life only got worse when I lost Crabbe last year. He was the closest thing to a real friend that I had. Since he died Goyle hasn't talked to me. He hasn't talked to anyone actually. I guess I lost both of my friends last year. Now the only person I have is Pansy and she only wants to shag me. I'm more alone now than I've ever been. Mother won't talk to me and my father has been locked away in Azkaban. I have no one anymore.
The only happiness I've had in the last two years is my Hogwarts letter. I received it a few days ago and I couldn't believe that it arrived at all. After everything, I never thought that I'd be invited back. Professor McGonagall must think that I'm a different person. That or she thinks it'd be funny to watch me suffer another year. For some reason I don't think she's that kind of person. I'm actually quite thankful that she's given me this chance. It might not work, but I have a plan to tell the girl I love just how much she means to me. I'll do anything to at least be friends with her. I know that her heart already belongs to someone else, but I have to try to win her over. Even if it's the death of me.
