Jenny comes over today. She wants us to go to Laura's party together, so we're hanging out beforehand. I'm glad she's over though, I haven't seen her since school ended.

We're both lying on my bed and talking. I tell her about the whole Scorpius situation. "Oh, wow," she says after I tell her. "That doesn't sound so good."

"Does it?" I ask, facing her now. "I wasn't sure if I was being needy or something."

"No, I don't think you are. If someone says they don't feel anything for you, you shouldn't just brush it off."

"He is going through his mum being sick."

"Which is why he shouldn't be pushing you away," Jenny insists. "Now is when he needs you the most, but he's making it really difficult."

"Shit, you're right," I say. "He needs me now more than ever, and I've just been letting this happen."

"It's only been like two days," Jenny points out.

"I know. I'll try to talk to him at the party."

"About the party, do you think we have to dress up?"

I shrug. "I'm not going to."

We aparate to Laura's pretty early. Her house is in a muggle neighborhood, like mine, but the houses here are closer together. They all look the same too. I check the number on the house, 209. Yup, that's the right one.

Jenny knocks on the door. A man answers. He has short grey hair and a small beard. Judging from his clothes, he's definitely a muggle. I've never seen Laura's dad before, so I'm not even sure if this is him.

"Hi," I say. "Is Laura home?"

He grunts and then turns toward the inside of the house. "Laura!" He calls. Okay, so this is her house.

Laura comes thumping down the stairs. "Yeah, dad?"

"I think some of your magic friends are here," he says. I almost laugh, but hold it in. He gives Jenny and me a small grin and then walks away.

"Yeah, that's Rose and Jenny," she smiles at us and closes the door behind us as we walk in. "We'll be in my room." Her dad waves lazily and takes a seat on the recliner chair.

Jenny and I follow Laura down the hall towards her room. It's about the size of my room, small, but not too small. Her room is designed really nice. There are string lights around the ceiling and the walls are covered in decoration pictures.

Once Laura closes the door, she turns towards us wearing a smug smile that could only mean one thing. "I made the team!" She announces.

I squeal, literally, without thinking. "Oh my god! Oh, Merlin's beard Laura that's amazing!" I throw my arms around her, leaping into a hug. Jenny does too.

"I can't believe we're best friends with a professional quidditch player!" She says.

"I haven't even had my first match yet," Laura says modestly, which is so unlike her.

"This is still the best news ever," I say, pulling away from the hug. "So is that why you're having a party?"

Laura nods. "Yeah, I probably won't see everyone a lot so I want to have one last hurrah, you know?"

"Oh, this might be one of our last parties together for a while," Jenny adds, making all of us sentimental.

"That's why it's going to be the best one." Laura stares at me and Jenny for a moment. "But you're not wearing that, right?"

"Hey, I like this shirt!" I protest. It's just a striped t-shirt, but it's really comfortable.

"I just mean, it's so casual."
