"I'm not the one you need to escape. I will help you" Gerald said. "Thank you" Mr. Clean said. Gerald motioned for Mr. Clean and Clementine to follow him before walking towards the front door of the building. They walked over to Gerald as he hit some buttons in the keypad next to the door. Mr. Clean watched in awe as outside of them turned back into the place he was knocked out in a few days ago. "You can leave now. I'm sorry that we can't help with finding Elmo. Goodbye" Clementine said.
"Why don't you just come with me?" Mr. Clean asked. "We're just your imagination. Did you really think that we're real?" Gerald asked. "Umm... kinda?" Mr. Clean said. "You've been asleep this whole time. You must wake up and try to find Elmo now" Clementine said while pushing him out of the door. "Goodbye..." {Short ramen break here} Mr. Clean watched the building disappear before another rock hit him in the head, knocking him out.
He woke up on the ground and saw three teenagers standing over him. "Did we kill him?" "Why isn't he moving?" "Probably because you hit him in the head with a flying rock, dumbo" "He's opening his eyes!" "Wow, are you okay?" Mr. Clean ignored the teenagers and stood up. They all stared at him. He just turned around and started walking away. Even if there was no magical land that could help find Elmo, he would find him. His head was throbbing so he walked all the way back to his house to get some Advil. Mr. Clean took the Advil and walked right out of his house to find Elmo.
~~~~~toome skoop~~~~~
It had been 5 days since Mr. Clean started searching for Elmo. He hadn't been able to sleep and made almost no progress. Despite his struggles, he continued to look. John was his best friend and he would do anything for him. Everyday Mr. Clean would visit John and make sure he was okay. He would tell him all about his adventures in looking for Elmo, always making sure to exaggerate because in reality nothing much happened on his quest. John knew Mr. Clean was exaggerating but he would always pretend like he didn't, listening to every word he spoke. He knew that his friend was going through a hard time and if it made him feel better if he thought that he believed his stories, so be it.
More time went on and Mr. Clean never gave up. He kept looking and looking, searching for any clue of where Elmo could have gone. John had been out of the hospital for a while now and he insisted that Mr. Clean didn't have to give Elmo the note but he kept looking anyways. "Even if he doesn't get the note, you need him and I know it. I ruined your relationship and I'm going to fix it" he would say. John knew he wouldn't give up so he just went with it but he worried for Mr. Clean's health. He knew he hadn't slept well in a long time. He knew that he wasn't eating enough. He tried talking to him about it but Mr. Clean just said he was fine.
It had been almost a year since Mr. Clean had started searching for Elmo. His health had gotten worse, he always looked like he could just collapse, which happened quite often but he never spoke of it. John had moved on from Elmo. In fact, he would be having a great life if it wasn't for his best friend slowly killing himself with his obsession. No matter how much he said he didn't need Mr. Clean to find Elmo, no matter how many times he begged him to stop and pay some attention to his own health, Mr. Clean never listened.
A month later, John was done with watching his friend do this to himself. He called Mr. Clean. His heart was racing as he listened to the phone ring. Riiiiiing... Riiiiiing... Rii- "Hello, John?" He took a deep breath before speaking "I'm sorry Mr. Clean, I really am, but I can't just watch you slowly kill yourself. I can't be your friend. I don't want to do this but I don't think I can handle seeing you this way. Goodbye" he said. "What? John? I'm doing this for you!" He heard Mr. Clean yelling on the phone. He felt a tear fall down his face. He hung up and wiped the tear away. He had lost his boyfriend and his best friend. He was all alone.
Mr. Clean couldn't believe what he'd just heard. After all that he'd done, John just threw him out like trash. He spent a year looking for his soulmate just for him! Also he wasn't 'slowly killing himself.' He was completely fine! I mean yeah, he didn't exactly have the best eating habits or sleeping pattern but he was perfectly health, right? "If I find Elmo for him, he'll have to forgive me!" Mr. Clean said to himself. He had a plan, he just had to find Elmo. For all he knew, Elmo could've been dead for a year.
So sorry I haven't updated so long! I've just been really tired and school is pretty time consuming. I actually wrote the part before the time skip a few weeks ago but didn't finish until now. Also, my wrist has been hurting more so it's kinda painful to type. I can handle typing but writing is hell. *war flashbacks of the pain of how much we have to write in civics* Anyways, I doubt anyone is actually reading this A/N. I mean, I never read them. I find them quite boring. Congrats to you if you're still reading. You get free cake for that. *gives free cake to everyone who is still reading* You're welcome random human. That's all so bye!
