The Contract That Binds Us

Family X Dinner X Contract

"Ah... Kikyo, Illumi, you called?" I ask, looking between Killua's mom and older brother. Illumi was all fine in my book but Kikyo... She was a little off, if you know what I mean. I don't think that the thing over her eyes helped.

"Yes Kat, Killua has left us, his home and won't come back or even talk to us... I want you to bring him back to me, us." She says in a possessive voice but I remained composed. I make a paper appear with a purple ball point pen with purple ink to be Kikyo theme.

"All the work I do must be contracted, as you know. Are you willing to pay my price for me to do this?" I ask turning serious.

"We have a few more conditions to add, right mother?" Illumi adds making me huff in irritation. I had already started writing this. I ripped the draft, making it disappear as I got a new paper. This crazy little... Calm, calm. Zoldycks, don't make enemies of the Zoldycks. But I swear, I'll rip that so hard off her face that she-

"Kat, are you making note of all this? I don't want Killua to escape." She says firmly and I reveal that my pen and piece of paper, made for taking notes, to her that has been writing on its own.

"Of course. Contracts are a vary serious matter for me." I say and she nods and continues to list her conditions and requirements. She finishes up, Illumi staying silent just watching my floating pen and paper.

"If that's all than-"

"I would like you to reveal this contract to Killua yourself as well." His mother adds. And she wonders why I always prefer talking to the men of her family instead of her.

"As you like, but the price has just gone up." I inform making the supplies to make a contract appear.

I'd make sure to punch my lightbulb in the face after this.

"Killua..." I sing as I called him.

"Kat-san? What-"

"Can you do me a favor?" I ask hopefully.

"What- Oh, Gon, it's Kat-san." I hear him inform.

"Hi, Gon!" I call.

"Hi, Kat-san!" I hear Gon call back.

"You're on speaker, don't yell!" Killua scolds making both of us laugh.

"Well Gon, I need a favor from you two."

"Yes?" They both ask.

"Your family is having a dinner thing, right Killua?" I ask and they go silent.

"How did you know?" He asks suspiciously.

"I'm going..." I inform, and there's silence.

"What!? Why are you going!? It's a family dinner! You don't need to go! How did that even happen!?" Killua yells through the phone.

"Haha actually it's a funny story. Illumi asked me to be his date but I think I'd feel more comfortable if you were there and-"

"Illumi's date!? Why are you going with him!? Is he forcing you? Don't go, tell him no, if he's holding you captive at my house then I'll go and get you-"

"Killua, please come. I don't want to be alone there. Your family is kinda anti social to outsiders." I plead desperately. This was the funniest way to get him to come. He was getting so worked up, he was so cute.

"They're like that with everyone! You're crazy if you think I'll go!" He yells and I can just imagine the red face he must have.

"Well if you think about it, Illumi could be a closet pervert. Those lone lightbulbs in the closet always creep me out." I reason making them think over my words. "Besides, it's only for dinner."
