Morgan's POV
"Not only did we come running," I replied.
"Yeah," General Diamond nodded as he looked around. "You brought your SWAT team."
"The BAU looks after each other like family," JJ replied as she walked up to us. "The kids fine?"
"Yeah, they're okay," Scarlett nodded. "That's all that matters." General Diamond phone beeped. He looked at it and sighed. "Duty calls."
"Yeah," General Diamond sighed. "Are you sure?"
"Dad, we don't need to cause a scene," Scarlett smiled.
"You know how you can get a hold of me," General Diamond smiled.
"Go, you have a battalion waiting for you," Scarlett nodded. With that, he left. "Be careful."
"Is Grandpa coming back?" Evelyn asked.
"Yeah," I nodded. "He has to go to work for a bit."*fast forward 2 years*
"Morgan!" Scarlett called from the kitchen.
"I'm coming," I called. I tied my tie in the mirror and walked down to the kitchen. "There are my two lovely kids."
"Mom, Dad, my ninth birthday is tomorrow," Evelyn replied.
"Then we'll have to do something really special for you," I replied as I kissed Evelyn on the cheek. "I'm ready to take you guys to school."
"Alright kids," Scarlett smiled. The kids grabbed their backpacks and lunch bags and left the house. "You be careful, okay?"
"I hate that you have to stay home," I signed.
"I know but it gives me time to be a house girl," Scarlett replied.
"Look, since Hotch put you on suspension, we've been down one hand," I sighed. "And since Hotch has been put on medical leave, I had to step up and be the unit chief." She sighed. "Let me see if I can pull some strings and get you back in the game, okay? It's been five months and we're down two people. I'm sure it won't take much to convince Cruz to put you in."
"Well, whatever it is, I'll take it," Scarlett shrugged as she put the dishes away. "I need to be working and Dad keeps asking when can he babysit the kids again."
"Right," I sighed. "I'll see what I can do. Bye, baby girl." I gave Scarlett a kiss on the cheek and left the house. I got into the SUV and checked to make sure the kids were strapped in. "You kids ready?"
"Yeah!" Dustin exclaimed.
"Alright," I smiled. I drove to the elementary school. I got out of the car and got the kids out. Dustin ran to his friends. "He ain't gonna say goodbye to his dad?"
"It's Dustin, Dad," Evelyn nodded.
"You still want me to walk you to class like Mommy does?" I asked. Evelyn nodded. I grabbed her hand and walked her to her class. I walked her into her class and she sat in her desk. "Either Mommy or Grandpa will be here to pick you up, okay?" Evelyn nodded. "Okay."
"Daddy, what are you doing for my birthday?" Evelyn asked.
"That's a surprise," I smiled. "Don't worry about it, sweetheart."
"Excuse me," said a woman as she walked up to me. I turned to look at her. "I'm afraid we've never met. I'm Mrs. Patterson, uhm, you can call me Lily, Evelyn's fourth grade teacher. I thought Miss Diamond would've brought her."
"Scarlett had asked me to bring the kids today," I replied. "I'm Agent Derek Morgan. You can call me Derek."
"I heard Evelyn call you Daddy," Mrs. Patterson looked worried.
"You have a good day at school," I smiled. Mrs. Patterson and I stepped outside the classroom. "Evelyn is not related to me at all. She lost her father two years ago and she doesn't know her mom. Scarlett Diamond, she's Evelyn Diamond's aunt." Mrs. Patterson was now feeling sorry for Evelyn. "Scarlett and I raised Evelyn for the past two years along with her brother Dustin Powers. They call us both Dad and Mom. Scarlett and I are only a couple, not married or anything."
"Okay," Mrs. Patterson sighed. "I was worried."
"It's normal to be concerned for a student in your class," I nodded. My phone rang and I looked at it. I picked up. "Morgan."
"We need you down at the office," Rossi replied.
"I'll be there," I responded and hung up. "I gotta go." I opened the classroom door. "Evelyn, I gotta go to work but I'll see you when I get home. Love you."
"Love you too, Daddy," Evelyn smiled.
"It was nice meeting you, Mrs. Patterson," I nodded as I close the door.
"Agent Morgan, we have a show and tell about parents jobs in the class next Friday," Mrs. Patterson responded. "Maybe you and Miss Diamond would like to show the class what you do for your job."
"Yeah, but our section might get cut if we get called into a case," I nodded. "But, please, put us down. Either both or one of us is bound to show up." I walked out to the SUV and drove to the office. I walked into the conference room. "What's the 411? I was dropping my kids off at school."
"There's a bomber," JJ replied. "Reid's in the middle of it and he's with the unsub right now."
"Where?" I asked.
"They're on a series of dates," JJ replied.
"We need you to go in with a date and play the bait," Cruz replied.
"Hey," Scarlett walked in. "I got your call."
"Okay," I slowly replied. "What's going on?"
"You're going to go on a date with JJ," Cruz replied.
"Uh, no," I nodded. "You promised me I wouldn't do dates unless it was with Scarlett because it'll look more real since we're already together." I looked at Scarlett. "A promise I made to the team and they accepted it. She's the one for me." Scarlett smiled. I looked at Cruz. "Cruz, we're down two positions. Can you please approve Scarlett so that she can come back from suspension?"
"I'll push it through myself," Cruz replied. "But you have an hour to get there and make sure to disarm that bomb in that building."
"Let's go," I smiled. Scarlett was already in a red dress for occasion, so we just went to the restaurant. Scarlett was just smiling at me as we put in the earpiece. "What?"
"I'm the one?" Scarlett asked. "Well, don't break my heart, okay, playa?"
"Don't talk like that," I chuckled as we turned on the earpiece. "Okay, let's focus."
We saw Reid and the unsub. "Okay," Scarlett replied.
"She hasn't touched anything to arm the bomb," I sighed. "That means the bomber's here, inside the restaurant."
"Okay, if you can take him, do so, but the priority is to evacuate," Rossi replied.
"I'm not even sure if it is a him," Scarlett replied. "We can't mention with gender bias, so, what if that applied to the bomber as well?"
"Okay, she'll have to be in a position to maintain a sight on Reid," Rossi sighed. "Who do you see?"
"Guys, the bomb is now armed," JJ replied. "I'm standing right next to it. Do something."
"Look for anyone with there phone out," I nodded. "That's the detonator. A woman won't give herself away by looking over."
"I got her," Scarlett nodded. "Blue dress, at the bar."
"Hey, you know what, baby?" I took a sip of the martini. "Let's get out of here. I'm not really feeling this place."
We stood up. "Really?" Scarlett asked as I grabbed her hand. "I kinda like it."
"I wanna take you to a spot where we can do some dancing," I nodded. At that moment, I let go of Scarlett's hand. I grabbed the phone from the woman in the blue dress and unarmed the bomb. Scarlet banged her head on the bar to seduce the unsub. "Got it."
"We're clear," JJ sighed with relief.
"Reid's not," Rossi replied.
"Don't," replied the unsub as she had a gun to Reid's head.
"FBI!" I stated. "Everybody stay calm, please." An officer came in and took the lady from Scarlett. She got out her gun and so did I. "Stay calm."
"Alright, let's be smart about this and talk it out," Scarlett responded. "Aren't we going to do that, Kai?"
"That's up to you," Kai replied.
"Get everyone out of here," Reid nodded.
"Move," Scarlett stated. She got everyone out. "We're good."
"Morgan, you and Scarlett too," Reid replied.
"We're not going anywhere, kid," I nodded.
"Guess we're right back where we started," Kai sighed. "You and me, with a gun."
"Reid," Scarlett sighed. "It's time."
"No," Reid nodded.
"We don't have a choice, we have to do it," I nodded. Reid sighed. Scarlett crept up behind them. "We have to take the chance, a chance that will save your life." I looked at Scarlett. "Do it." Scarlett put her gun away. Reid hit the ground and Scarlett kicked the gun from Kai's hand. The gun flew through the air and Scarlett caught it and pointed it at Kai. "Game over, Kai."
