It was one of those days. A rainy day in which I had no classes, off of work, a day longing to be filled with memories. So I grabbed the box from the back of my closet, sat on my sofa, and opened it.

I was 24, at university still, working on a master's degree. I had moved off campus in my own apartment for a couple years now. Louise lived close by, Chris a couple hours away. PJ moved back to England, but visited as often as possible.

After Dan had died, it took a while for us to heal completely. It seemed there was a hole left in all of us afterwards. No one was quite the same, but like a body heals a cut or crape, we healed over, but a scar remained forever.

I hadn't fallen in love since, not because I was avoiding it, but because I hadn't found anyone. I pulled out all the pictures in my Dan box, looking through them, allowing the memories to flood me. When I closed my eyes, I could still hear his voice, see him looking at me.

I cried a little, because I don't think I'll ever not cry.

I don't think a day will ever pass in which I don't think of him.

Dan was, and is, my soulmate. Nothing can change that. We will always be connected, and who knows? Maybe that Tumblr theory was right, that we were connected even before the universe began. That nothing could have kept us apart, we were destined to be together.

After an hour, I put the box away, tears still streaming down my face. I looked at the small corner of my room ceiling, still covered in glow in the dark stars.

Then I dried my eyes, and got in my car. I was going to hang out with Louise and her daughter Darcy today. I made my way to their apartment, and when I knocked on the door, I was greeted by Darcy. "Philly!" She yelled, and I smiled and picked her up.

"Phil?" I heard Louise yell.

"Hey, Louise!" I called, and she came and gave me a big hug.

We ordered a pizza and watched a movie together, a Disney movie that everyone including Darcy could enjoy. I stayed until it was Darcy's bedtime. When Louise told her to go pick out a bedtime story, Darcy looked at me and asked, "Can Phil tell me a story? I like his stories."I smiled and agreed. When I was over, I always made up stories for her to hear, which she loved. She led me to her bedroom, and Louise followed us and tucked Darcy in. I grabbed one of the chairs in her room, sat down, and began.

"There once was an angel who shined brighter than all the other angels. He was also the bravest and most heroic angel."

"What was the angel's name?" Darcy asked.

"His name was Dan."
