I stared at the question, not at all understanding it. It was my last exam of the school year; algebra 2, which was not at all my area of expertise. It was a question I had skipped earlier, but the last one I had to answer. I sat and stared at my numerous attempts at solving it. I finally gave up and marked one of the multiple choice answers.

I stared at Dan across the room, who rolled his eyes and sighed. I rested my hand on my chin and rolled my eyes back at him. We were both ready for school to end for the summer. I looked over at Chris who had the hood of his jacket up and looked like he was asleep; no surprise there. Louise looked at us and raised her eyebrows, and PJ gave a mischievous smile and tapped his watch.

Finally the bell rang, and PJ stood up. "PJ," our teacher, Mr. Urie said. "I did not give you permission-"

PJ stood up on his desk, and started singing. "WHAT TIME IS IT? SUMMER TIME, IT'S FINALLY HERE!" Which then started a sing-a-long with the rest of his class. I was laughing uncontrollably; PJ had said that we has going to do this, but I didn't believe that he actually would. Mr. Urie just shook his head, because it was the last day of school and he couldn't really do anything.

"Okay, get the hell out of here and have a good summer." He told us, and we all practically ran out.

PJ hopped down from his desk, and linked arms with me and Chris, Dan linking arms on my other side, and Louise on the other side of Chris. "Sing with me, my friends!" PJ told us, and we were running through the halls, singing High School Musical together.

Someone started to glare at us, but then I heard them say, "Oh, it's the Brit Clique." Because nothing we did surprised anyone. We were debatably psychotic, pretty much the school entertainment. But we were well liked, and we liked everyone. I couldn't have asked for a better group of friends.

Dan and I waved goodbye to everyone and got on our bus home, with promises of meeting at the lake that afternoon. Dan and I rode on the bus home together, smiling and making plans for our summer. I was going on holiday the next month with Dan and his family. We were going to spend as much time with the rest of the Brit Clique as possible, nights at the lake.

"This is our summer before senior year, our last summer before we graduate. We're going to act like we own this town." Dan informed me.

We walked home together, then parted ways and I watched him go into his house, before going into mine. I went up to my room and laid on my bed, remembering the last day of school last year. This year was better, definitely better. I smiled and closed my eyes, and I must have fallen asleep, because I woke up to Dan gently shaking me. "Get on up, amazingPhil. We gotta meet the Brit Clique at the lake in 15 minutes."

I opened my eyes and smiled at him. "How do you always get in my house?"

"Your dad let me in."

"Oh." I cuddled into Dan. "I'm so tired, just a little while longer, pleeaasssee."

Dan laughed. "As adorable as you are, you have to get up now."

I sat up and yawned, then grabbed a swimsuit, quickly changed, and emptied my backpack of school supplies, grabbing a couple towels for me and Dan. I told my dad that we were leaving, then we walked along the path up to the lake.

Dan took my hand and led me off the path for a second. "Dan?"

Dan answered by pressing me up a tree and kissing me, a long kiss. He pulled back a smiled. "Sorry, you're just so adorable, I had to do that."

I laughed, and took his hand, walking back along the path. "God, Dan. I thought you were going to murder me or something."

Dan smiled and shook his head. "You're so ridiculous sometimes, Phil. But I love you for that."

I smiled and continued walking. We heard the rest of the Brit Clique before we saw them. I broke into a run, throwing down my backpack, and jumped off the dock into the water. Louise complained about me getting her hair wet, but she jumped in after me anyways.

Soon we were all in the water, and I was brought back to the first time I went to the lake, when I was thrown into the water. The First Good Day, I called it. The first good since Mum died. And like that day, we watched the sunset, and I thought to myself, I never want to have a Last Good Day. I want good days to last forever.
