He remembers the day he had met Annie like it was yesterday. It was the seventh grade, he was 13 and she was 12. She was new to school and from the moment he set eyes on her he thought she was beautiful; she was truly breathtaking.

Being the nice person he was, he volunteered to show her around the school. But mostly because he wanted to get to know her. He learned her full name was Andrea Rosalina Contos; she preferred to be called Annie. He also learned Greek but he could already tell that.

And they also had most classes together strangely but he was glad, just within showing her around that day he had taken a liking to her.

The rest of the week they would get to know each other. She would sit with him at lunch and they would talk for a while. Finally by the end of the week he had gained enough confidence to ask for her number.

By the end of the school year, they were inseparable. They would often be hanging out, even if it was just going to one of their houses and talking for hours. Many people suspected they were secretly dating, but Ethan was too scared she didn't feel that way and Annie thought he didn't like her back so she remained quiet.

But Grayson, being the wonderful twin he was, took Ethan's phone one day over the summer before freshman year and text Annie, asking her on a date. Ethan of course was mad because Annie didn't answer right away; she was off at a dance competition and most likely wouldn't answer until late that night. But when she did answer, he couldn't thank his twin brother enough. She had gladly agreed, saying she would be home the next day and they made plans for that Thursday.

Their date, Ethan was scared would be awkward and Annie secretly had the same fear, but it wasn't. They had an amazing time on their first date which was pizza and then a movie; something simple.

Their third date, freshman year had just started, is when Ethan finally asked her to be his girlfriend and Annie excitedly accepted. Ethan hadn't remembered the last time he was that happy, Annie made him happy.

They dated all four years of high school, many people called them the "it" couple. Annie didn't like that, she liked her boyfriend and small group of friends and Ethan was the same way. They often would spend time at each other's houses, they both got to know the others family well, and would just relax.

Annie's family adored Ethan, just like Ethan's family adored Annie. Annie's family wasn't that big; 4 children including her and her mom, dad, and grandmother. Annie was the second oldest, her older brother was already in college when she was in her sophomore year of high school. And her younger siblings were Athena and Niko; 10 and 4.

Annie and Ethan weren't like most high school couples having sex, they didn't have sex until the summer before senior year; Annie's 17 birthday. Annie was one of the youngest in their grade while Ethan was one of the oldest already being 18. They both were shy, but it was a cute shy, and it wasn't just fucking, they both knew how much they loved each other.

He remembered graduation. Annie wore a beautiful maroon lace dress, while Ethan just wore nice pants and a nice shirt; both black put together with a maroon tie. Both Annie's mom and his own wanted them to match a little, neither argued because they knew their own and each other's mom's were stubborn.

He remembered all the little things; their first kiss, their first school dance together, the first time he watched Annie dance, the first time they had sex, and he remembered the few times they fought. It was always over something pointless, just like fights always are. They always made up that same day though, Ethan always apologized because he knew he didn't want to lose Annie.

And he remembered that one dreadful day that was supposed to be an amazing day. They were supposed to walk, have a cute picnic and he would give Annie the necklace she wanted. Instead, they walked, had a picnic and Annie got killed.

Remembering all this was a blessing and a curse; the good times he loved remembering because they made him smile -only a little- but he also hated it because she was gone and he was in prison. All he wanted was to be with Annie again; no more flashbacks or nightmares or crying or pain, finally happiness again. His heart craved for it and soon enough suicidal thoughts were going through Ethan's mind as he lay in his cells bed, thinking.

He looked at the ceiling and sighed deeply,
"God, I miss you" he murmured to the sky. "I miss your voice and your laugh, how ticklish you were, how amazingly well you danced, our dates, cuddling, kissing, hugging, everything. I just miss you" he murmured more, running a hand through his hair and tugging lightly from stress. He still hadn't felt whole and he knew he wouldn't. Suicidal thoughts ran through his brain and he tugged on his hair again; this was too tough.
