God, I hate this school. A crappy, rundown, high school that looks more like an asylum.
It was so bad that vines started to grow on the side of the building, covering up the air vents, making the widows stay permanently opened.
I untied my hazel hair from the stupid bun my step-mother said looked"Nice.", she always hated me.
The smell of marijuana caked my senses, as I passed the chain fence.
This school has no rules, you can basically do what you want. I reached into the pocket of my ripped black jeans, pulling out a pack of WonderWall cigarettes.
Everyone in this school either is a part of gang or carries a weapon on them, even the good kids. I walked into the school doors, lighting the cig, and taking a puff. I turned around the corner, walking past the "beer-drinkers" and up the stairs.
Walking past a few rooms, I stepped into 207B, throwing the cigarette into the trash can. I went to the back of the classroom, avoiding the chaos and cocaine lines on the desks. I propped up my legs, leaning back in my chair; putting on headphones to drown out the annoying students.
The teachers didn't even bother coming to school, only to collect their pay check at the end of the day.
I tugged on the sleeve of my black and dark green striped sweater as I looked out the only closed window into the dead forest in front of the school. I squinted my blue eyes, seeing a tall figure in the woods. I felt a slight pressure on the sides of my head and ringing in my ears, "Ow, shit...".
I jumped as I heard a the pain of glass in the window shatter. I looked down, seeing the broken glass on the floor.
"What the hell..."
I reached into my backpack, moving my crossbow out of the way and shoving my phone and headphones into my back and heading out the door, hoping no one saw that. I ran out of the school, the ringing continuing.
I ran into the woods, not wanting to be yelled at for going home early.
The ringing turned into white noise, my head pounding, as I looked at my surroundings. The trees of the the dead forest, seemed to reach out for me; their branches curling in my general direction.
I jumped as I heard hustling coming from the bushes. I pulled out my crossbow, aiming it at the source of the noise.
"Who's there! I'm not afraid of hurting anyone!" I yelled, pointing it at the nearby bushes.
"Show your-!"
A shocked expression crossed my face as I looked forward, seeing a hatchet floating an inch in front of my face. It was so close that my breath clouded the blade.
The blade fell to the ground, my eyes catching a hooded figure run deeper into the woods.
"Hey!"
I shot an arrow in the direction, proving to be pointless. I was going to follow them but, I heard sirens coming in my direction.
"Ugh!" I shoved my crossbow into my bag, running out of the woods and to my house.
What the hell just happened?!
I ran down the wet sidewalk, my breathing getting heavy. I went past all the rundown buildings and houses, stopping at a blue two story house.
I climbed to a tree next to it, jumping onto the roof. I opened the window, hopping into my room.
I shut the window and closed the blinds. I threw my bag on the floor, laying on my bed, wanting to stay there for the whole weekend. I wrapped the blanket around me, closing my eyes. I don't know what happened but...
