I felt a cool breeze blow across my face, my hazy vision clearing.
"Oh look! She's waking up!" An excited voice said next to me.
I groaned, sitting up with my hand on my head. I looked up, my eyes meeting a pair of orange and pink eyes.
I jumped up, a little surprised. This girl was made from different body parts, all stitched and sutured together. Many different natural and unnatural skin tones, her hair just the same.
Her clothes were all over the place: cheery red pants but, they were half booty short-half pants and a rainbow crop top sweater that was ripped slightly.
"Hi, I'm Chariot!" She said, saying her name in a French accent.
Chariot means 'Dolly' in French. Creative, since she looks like that.
Chariot held out her hand for me to shake, only for it to fall on the ground.
"Oops!" I watched as she picked up the hand and looking at the green stuffing popping out of the place where her hand was. "Rei, I need help!" I coughed as black mist filled my lungs. I looked to my side, seeing Rei.
She looked somewhat normal, besides the pure white skin that matched her black bun, held together with a red Japanese hair pin. Her face was covered with a Japanese fox mask, wrapped in a plain black kimono that was tied together with a red sash. In one hand she held a red paper umbrella and in the other rested a needle and spool of thread.
She started to repair the appendage, "Thanks, Rei!". "Look, I have to go. Now, where's my damn bag?" I asked, look over and seeing my bag floating next to me.
I am aware that I'm doing this for myself, but it still freaks me out.
I grabbed it, throwing it over my shoulder as I walked away. "Wait! Heather!" Chariot yelled, I stopped.
"How do you know my name...?" I asked, feeling a stinging sensation on my left cheek right next to the corner of my mouth.
"Mister Slender told us!" She exclaimed, getting so excited that one of her eyeballs fell out. "Whoops!" She crouched down, her hands searching the damp grass.
I bent down, picking up the eyeball with my thumb and index finger, using my shirt to clean it. I tossed it to the masked chick, "Here, I'm leaving.".
"Hold up! Before you go, take this! Just in case you change your mind!"
Chariot tossed something white at me, which I caught with my telekinesis or whatever it is. It was the white surgical mask that was in my backpack, but it had a weird black circle with an 'X' through it. I grabbed it, shoving into my back pocket. The makeshift girl waved as I walked away, touching my numb cheek.
"The hell is wrong with my cheek." I said, looking at my fingers. My fingers had something that looked like ash, "I guess it's dirt or something.". I continued to rub my cheek as an echoey voice spoke to me.
"Are you sure about that?" I looked up, seeing a shadowy figure standing in front of me. It was shaped like me, but it was colored all black and its face looked... drawn on. It had big, red eyes, that were much larger than anatomy would allow, with a red line that formed into a smile that went from ear to ear.
Considering what's been going on, I wasn't really surprised.... The only thing that was freaking me out was that it sounded just like me and looked the same too, besides the obvious color difference and face.
"And what might you be?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest. "Your mind." It answered, it talked, but its mouth never moved.
"Whatever, why are you here? Seems like most people either want to kill me or recruit me into some cult." I said, kicking some leaves on the ground.
"I'm here to guide you."
I scoffed, rolling my eyes. "Yeah, right. You'll probably just kill me when I let my guard down." I walked past the being, shaking my head. I stopped as I felt its hand on my shoulder. It felt like it wasn't touching at all really, I could just only sense the presence of it.
"I can help you get rid of your problems, give you advice... But most of all, get you everything you've ever wanted and get pay back on all those who've wronged you." It whispered into my ear. "Your stepmother, your dad, the people at your school, and even the man who killed your poor, little sister..."
My hands balled into fists, tears forming in my eyes, the saltiness stinging my cheek.
5 years ago, before I met Toby in this shitty town, I had a sister named Alexa. She was a bright and energetic girl that refused to wear dark clothes and always smiled. She always asked me to fix her blonde hair, which she inherited from my real mother.
Alexa was the light of my life and kept me sane through out the years. She got good grades and made a ton of friends, along with her imaginary ones as well. One day, in late October, I was helping her with her homework and I noticed a strange look in her hazel eyes. I asked her what was wrong, she didn't respond, eating the candy in her hand. My dad freaked out thinking it was rat poison or something.
That night, I went to check on her. Instead of seeing my sleeping sister, I saw something that scarred me for the rest of my life.... It was my sister's dead body, her organs and stomach filled with the same type of candy she was eating that morning. She would have been 11 years old, today.
I suppressed that memory a long time ago, I don't want to think about it anymore.
"How did you-"
"You might want to take care of them."
It disappeared after pointing to the trees at my left. I looked over, catching two figures hiding behind the trees.
"Whatever, I don't have time for this." I said, rubbing my cheek again. I looked at my hand, a little bit of blood on it.
"The hell?" I said, walking to that familiar waterfall.
I guess I really didn't notice this the first time I came here but, there was a cave behind the waterfall.
"It would have been a better idea to change in here than out in the open." I said, hearing my footsteps echo back to me as I walked in.
"Dry, cozy, and a great view... I'll stay here. I've got no where else to go anyways... I'm sure Toby will find me anyways." I said, throwing my bag on the floor as I stretched.
The cave wasn't too damp or small either, I mean I could live here. "Home." I reached into my bag, pulling out a lantern I had.
I grabbed a match box from my stocking, striking it to light the lantern. I turned up the flame, the light flickering on the cave walls.
I sighed, laying on the ground, a sudden tiredness washing over me.
"Sweet dreams, me..."
