My eyes slowly opened, a raindrop landing on my now pale cheek. "Rain? Really?" I said to no one. As I said that it started to pour, soaking my entire body. I groaned, "Good thing my backpack is waterproof.". I grabbed my backpack and put it on. "I need to look for a place to stay... Or at least somewhere to change." I said, my wet clothes sticking to my body as I walked.

I stopped as I saw a large body of water with a small waterfall coming from the edge of the small cliff, the ripples from the raindrops clouding it. I looked up, "Oh, look. Seems the inconvenient rain has conveniently stopped.". I dropped my bag on the ground, opening it, and sifting through the random things. "Now, what the hell did I put in here?" I asked, groaning as I found the only piece of clothing in my backpack. Out of all the things I grabbed, I grabbed my 9th grade Halloween costume: a red, white and black schoolgirl outfit. "I guess, I'll wear it.... It's not like anyone can see me anyways." I said, peeling off my wet sweater. "Ugh, even my bra got wet." I grabbed one of my extra pair of underwear, the black ones preferably. I took off my bra, completely naked from my waist up. I slipped on my bra, putting the black sailor shirt with the red ribbon on. I grabbed the skirt, pulling them over my wet pants. I slid them off along with my underwear, putting on the clean one on. "Oh my god, it's cold." I said slipping on the black stockings that went over my knees and putting on my black flats. I reached into my bag, feeling a strange piece of cloth.

"Huh?" I pulled out a white surgical mask. "Well, I guess I'll save it for later... You never know." I said, shoving it into my bag. I jumped, hearing rustling of leaves behind me. I held my crossbow to my side, "This shit again...".

My eyes focused on a man standing in front of me, wearing a white hoodie stained with blood and black pants. He looked unnaturally white, his hair much darker than my new hair. And... His eyelids where burnt off, but the thing that unnerved me the most was the permanent smile carved into his face. The insanity clear in his eyes... I don't like it. I aimed the crossbow at him, "Hey, freak! Piss off, before I cream ya'!".

"That's big talk for a schoolgirl...." He said in his raspy voice, twirling a butcher knife in his hand. I growled, this perv must have seen me change. He stepped closer, "Heh. I've never killed a schoolgirl before."

"And you're not gonna."

I shot at him, he dodged it lunging forward, trying to stab me. I was about to knock the knife out of his hand, when my mind did it for me. He landed on top of me, wrapping his hands around my neck. I gasped, thrashing my legs as I tried to pry his hands off my neck. "Go to sleep!" Suddenly the pressure on my neck was gone. I pulled away, coughing and wheezing slightly. I looked up seeing the guy who was previously trying to kill me, now fighting with another guy.

He wore a mouth guard, orange goggles, brown jacket, and ripped blue jeans. The one in white grabbed the knife from before, going after the other slightly less pale guy. I stood up, running away, stumbling slightly. I grabbed my bag, running until I tripped getting my leg caught under a branch. I held my skirt down, trying to free my leg. My heart stopped when I looked up, seeing the boy with the brown jacket holding a familiar hatchet.

I closed my eyes as he raised his weapon. I gasped as the wood holding my leg, broke. I opened my eyes, seeing a gloved hand offering to help me up. A little hesitant, I took it, pulling me up effortlessly. I looked at his face, or I could see. He twitched, pulling me by my wrist. "Wait... Y-you're... Toby...?" He stopped, it was him.

"Y-yeah.... I-it's me, H-Heather." He took off the goggles, revealing his nostalgic brown eyes. "But, I thought you were dead...." I was the one who was nice to him, there was also the risk of being bullied... But that changed when I creamed the toughest guy and girl in school at the same time. "You look different..." I whispered, talking about the new clothes and such. "I-I could s-s-say the sa-same." He spoke, pointing a shaky finger at my hair and eyes.

"It's not like I had a choice."

"Me neith-neither."

My eyes drifted downwards. "I miss-" I winced, seeing the figure behind Toby, making my ears ring. Toby pulled me into his arms, shielding me from the monster. The ring stopped, but I continued to tremble due to the shear wear and tear my body had just went through. Toby placed his hand on my back, which made me pull away.

Blood slowly dripped down my back, a fresh welt on my skin bleeding. I hoped that he didn't see it, I've kept this secret for a long time. "H-Heather..." I crossed my arms over my chest, pulling away as he got closer. "I'm fine." I was suddenly pushed against a nearby tree, my hands pinned above my head. "Hey!" I yelped, feeling Toby lift up the back of my shirt. I pushed him away, pulling down my shirt to cover my scars. I wiped my eyes, turning away.

"W-when did this s-start.""A month after my stepmom moved in." I sniffed as he hugged me from behind, wiping the blood away with his hand. "I hate her so much... Damn cord." I said, a tinge of anger in my voice. "W-why did-didn't you tell me s-sooner.""I didn't want you to get hurt.""Remember, I c-can't get h-hurt." He kissed my cheek, making me smile. "Tob-" A sudden tiredness knocking me out. I fell back into his arms.

What am I?

Was that real?

I hope everything was just a dream. When I wake up, I'm going back to sleep and staying asleep... forever.
