At the dirt back road on a June afternoon all the women and a few guys are standing there with Sherlock and James . James's Porsche is sitting there under the sun .

James came up to Sherlock and said "Holmes I'm James Dean ." Sherlock said "I've been studying you ." James said "I am flattered ." Sherlock said "so what we race for ?" James said "the fun of it and I get to win my girlfriend ." Sherlock smiled . One of the guys said "we have till 3 till the fuddy-duddy's all come out ." James said "we'll be done before then ." Sherlock said "how abut we make some pennies from heaven ." James said "what you thinking ?" Sherlock said "I have twenty dollars on me ,whoever win gets it." James said "wouldn't mind that lettuce ." James' girlfriend said "are you ready to grandstand James ?" James said "always ,are you Holmes ?" John is in the crowd with everyone else . James said "ok let's get to it ." They got in their cars and James' girlfriend is standing in the middle in the front of the two cars with her hair scarf in her hand and her sunglasses on and said "ON YOUR MARK ,GET SET,GO" and she waved her scarf . They both went fast . James went faster than Sherlock . James beat Sherlock with both of them with pride . They got out their cars . Sherlock got the twenty out of his pocket and said "A deal is a deal ,I am stupid to think I could beat you ." James said "sadly you couldn't ." Sherlock said "you need to teach me ." James said "I'm not an eager beaver Sherlock." Sherlock said "I know ." James said "John has been looking out for you ,are you going to take it to the next level ?" Sherlock said "I don't know ." James said "take it to the next level." James' girlfriend and everyone else came to them. Valerie said "Jimmy you won?" James said "yes ." Valerie jumped into his arms James kissed her and said "let's go get milkshakes ." Everyone is walking away . John came up to Sherlock and said "ready ?" Sherlock smiled and said "yes ." John said "even though you didn't win I'm proud of you Sherlock." Sherlock smiled and said "ready ?" John said "yes ." They got going . John said "that was fun seeing you race ." Sherlock smiled and said "Jimmy wants me to take things further with you." John said "do you ?" Sherlock said "yes ." John said "then we will ."Sherlock said "John." They got home and John said "we've been living together for ages and no one said anything ,we have sex no one says anything ." Sherlock said "John." John took off his jacket and said "Sherlock ." Sherlock said "oh you like it when I race ." John said "of course I do ,I'm in high school and seeing that rush it feels great ." Sherlock said "actually doing it and then feeling the rush is better." John said "racing isn't for me." Sherlock said "alright ."
Five years later August 1955 James and Sherlock are at the dirt road with John and Valerie . James said "Sherlock one last race before summer ends ." Sherlock said "alright ,just for the fun of it or ?" James said "how about we take the two out for a joy ride ." Valerie said "Jimmy." John said "Sherlock." James is leaning against the car and said "come on we're not going to get hurt so let's just do it ,once ." John smiled and said "ok." Valerie said "ok fine Jimmy." They got in the cars . They started the engines . Sherlock said "are you ready Jimmy ?" James smiled at Valerie and said "yes .Whoever crosses the line wins a dinner ,the loser has to buy ." Sherlock said "ok deal." James said "READY ,SET,GO!!!!" They took off ! James and Valerie crossed the finish line. Sherlock and John stopped at the line . James said "how about we just go out a double date no one has to buy the whole dinner ,want to split the check?" Sherlock said "sure ." Valerie said "wait you and John are a couple ?" Sherlock said "yes ." Valerie said "I never knew ,yay ." John smiled . Valerie said "let's go ." They got to the diner and sat at a booth . Valerie said "how did you two meet?" John said "I was walking home in the rain and he was driving pass me and he stopped and offered me a lift ." Valerie said "aw ." Sherlock said "the carnival is coming we should all go." James said "when ?" John said "tomorrow." James said "alright ,Val you want to go ?" Valerie said "of course ." Sherlock and James are both smoking . John said "that can kill you Sherlock." James said "in like a hundred years it will." Sherlock said "John I'll be fine ." John smiled . James said "our food is coming ." John said "ok Sherlock ,I trust you." Sherlock smiled. John said "Sherlock." Sherlock paid for the meal ,we're going ." Jimmy said "thank you Sherlock." Sherlock said "take care Jimmy ." Jimmy said "you too and John I hope you and Sherlock end up together ." John smiled and said "thanks ." Valerie said "bye boys ." John said "bye Val." They got home and John said "I got school in about a week or two and it's going to be weird not hanging out with James and Val." Sherlock said "I'll pick you up everyday after school is over ." John said "you'll do that ?" Sherlock said "why wouldn't I ?" John said "no clue ." John smiled and said "I'm signing up for the military soon ." Sherlock looked up and said "what ?" John said "After I graduate high school this June I am signing up to work as a doctor study over seas ." Sherlock said "Wow ." John said "I always wanted to be a doctor in any field Sherlock and I would love it if you'd support me ." Sherlock got up and walked over to John slowly with shaking palms and bit his lip and said "of course I support you ,you'll be my little military soldier and I'd love that more than anything ." John smiled . Sherlock said "I will always be here when you come back ." John said "Alright ." Sherlock said "well its your dream and you need to follow your dream no matter what it is ." John said "I love you Sherlock ." Sherlock said "I love you more ." John kissed Sherlock and said "what if I get hurt ?" Sherlock said "you know how to stay safe ." John smiled . Sherlock said "from now on ,what ever shall happen ,I will always ,always be there for you ,John Watson." John said "Sherlock ." Sherlock said "I will make you my groom one way or another ,if I have to marry your grave ,I'll marry your grave ." John said "and that won't happen ." Sherlock said "I love you John Watson ." They hugged .
A month later on September 30th 1955 that night James got into a serious automobile accident with his one friend in the passenger side . The news got to his family and friends . James died in his one friend's arms in the hospital . John is in bed doing homework when Sherlock is knocking on the front door drunk . John's parents are asleep and he ran to the door and answered it . John said "Sherlock you're drunk ." Sherlock said "A bit upset ,I never get drunk like this before but this of what I'm upset about it's taking a lot on me ." John said "what happened ?" Sherlock said "Jimmy died ." John said "no we just saw him a few days ago ." Sherlock said "Route 66 he got into an accident ." John said "this can't be ." Sherlock said "it is ." They sat on the sofa and John said "I'm sorry Sherlock ." Sherlock said "I never really thought death could hurt this much." John said "yeah sorry never told you about that ." Sherlock said "could I spend the night please ?" John said "I got school in the morning ,but you can't be alone right now ,so sure come on ." They went to John's room and Sherlock laid down on his side . John is finishing his homework and said "are you ok?" Sherlock is snoring . John said "at least you are sleeping and safe ."
Over the weeks everyone ,the whole world mourn Jimmy's death and no one really took it easy . Over the months John got done with school and signed up for the military to help with the injured overseas so he'll be shipping out in the next month or two . Sherlock has been writing books {weird twist Sherlock a writer .}
