“Leyla it's the second time I've seen you do that, how the hell is it possible?” I just shook my head too shocked to speak, it had gotten really cold and I brought my knees up hugging them tightly. “Leyla, I think you're going into shock, let me buy you a coke” Again I nodded as he pulled me to my feet and took me to the co-op across the street. There he bought me the coke as he promised and all the way through I just felt bland, thoughts swirling around my mind so fast it was impossible to get more than a glimpse at them. Tom handed me my coke and I took it without another word, I was getting really tired and was about to sit down when I gulped the first mouthful of the coke. Everything came alive again and I breathed out a sigh, thank god for caffeine.
We arrived late at school with the excuse that we’d left home late, no way were we going to write 'almost had a car accident but then I levitated and went into shock' and 'my friend almost had a car accident but then she levitated, that put her in shock' I didn't think I was going to own up to that ever. As we ran through the hallways I got a glimpse of myself in a mirror, I looked terrible with bags under my eyes and my hair looked like it had gone through a fan (if that's even possible) I tried combing it down but gave up as we approached our English class. I reached for the door and was about to pull the door open when something yanked me back and a stifled scream came out of my mouth as I was pulled down the hallway. We were moving really really fast even though I was kicking and punching furiously with tears streaming down my cheeks, Tom ran after us but he wasn't fast enough as whatever had been pulling me left school grounds, as I kept kicking I heard Tom call my name in the distance even though it was too late. I had been dragged out into the horrible and scary forest.
We were quite deep into the forest when I decided that kicking and sinking my heels into the mud was really not helping, it was just making my uniform messy. Not that I thought I would have to use it very soon, as the further we went in, the less my hopes of getting out of there were. That was until I bit the person that was pulling me through the the forest and he, yes definitely a he, screamed in surprise and let go of my mouth making my head fall backwards and my hair get full of horrid mud.
“You idiot” He exclaimed, I turned my head around and found that my captor was tall, slender and very pale. He wore a green T-shirt with normal jeans and trainers, but that was what I saw if I didn't concentrate, if I did I saw that he was actually wearing leather boots and dark green trousers, the T-shirt looked about the same but didn't have the appearance of cotton, but of a stronger material, what stronger material? I don't know. Getting up swiftly (OK, falling over a couple of times) I started running in the direction we had come when two branches caught me and circled around me until I was trapped with no possibility of escape. I turned and glared at the boy, he was smiling and looked pretty calm for someone who just kidnapped a girl and made the trees somehow move to capture her.
“What do you want from me?” I asked hopeless, running was obviously out of my escape plan but maybe pity would work, yes I just had to act like I felt. A 15 year old girl trapped in between branches and that was feeling like she wanted to cry, I could do that. “I haven't done anything wrong, I swear I won't go onto faery school grounds ever, ever again”
“What are you talking about?” He said jumping up and onto a nearby branch, he sat down looking awfully smug and at that point I wanted to smack him in the face, hard. “I rescued you from the faeries, you know you seem too dumb to be the Daughter of the Forest.” He leaped down and came closer to me and looked thoughtfully at my face.
“Another person calling me that, what does it fricking mean!?” I couldn't run and pity didn't seem like it was working, so I was going for option 3. Discover why everyone called me that, and discover who and what this boy was, because he was obviously not a faerie. Although he might be a faerie in disguise, but it would be highly unlikely.
