“There is only one Daughter of the Forest, and that's you, legend has it that one day you will make the faeries leave the forest so that we, the elves, are able to live freely in the Enchanted Forest. Your touch burns faeries yet heals the elves and you have the power to control nature” I looked down at him surprised, I too wanted to sit but there were no other roots sticking out of the ground. No sooner had I thought of it did a root spring up and wait expectantly for me to sit on it. My eyebrows shot up but I didn't say a word as I sat down.

“But you can move nature, you trapped me before”

“We can do it to an extent, but none of us can actually fly, and it requires a lot of practice to be able to move nature, and I think it's obvious that you don't have much practice. Before I take you to the court I will have to teach you some things so that they believe it is really you.” He stood up and I went to do the same when another root emerged, I used it to help myself up without having to put my hands on the floor. This talent was going to be very useful. Smiling briefly he looked down to the floor where daisies were growing to-and-fro and kneeling down beside one, he touched its petal gently and then stood up again, I looked at him my eyebrows up, he hadn't really done anything. Had he? A giant daisy growing in between us was my answer, a daisy about my size.

“Come on, you can do the same” He looked at me pointedly and I crouched down next to a different daisy, I touched it gently on a petal but nothing happened, I tapped on it several times, I was starting to despair when an earthquake shook the earth and I fell backwards knocking my head on a tree.

When I opened my eyes I saw the boy looking up and I noticed a huge green trunk where the small daisy had stood seconds ago, instead there was a green tree. Wait, no, it was actually a gigantic daisy, I could barely see it but it was obviously the daisy, I stood up and shook the dirt off my skirt.

“New rule, lets wait to see how we moderate your powers before we start using them” I nodded slowly because it made lots and lots of sense. Ugh, the stupid mud had stained my white shirt and trying to get it out had just made the stain bigger, looks like daisies hated me as much as stains did. I glared at it until- until it disappeared. Had I seen it correctly or were my eyes playing a mean prank on me? I dwelled upon it while I rubbed my eyes. Yes, it most definitely had disappeared

“The stain disappeared!!!” I yelled jumping up and down as all around me mud turned into green fresh grass, at the same time all the mud disappeared from my clothes leaving me clean again. Suddenly pink and purple flowers of immense beauty started growing, I picked one of them up and it smelled just as good as it looked, it had a sweat strawberry aroma that made my stomach growl as I laughed in joy. This was amazing! Falling down on the ground I rolled while the grass blades and flowers petals tickled me. I had forgotten all about the boy when I heard him clear his throat from behind me, I sat up immediately and shook grass blades out of my hair while he came around and sat in front of me. All the time he smiled, it looked like he was out of himself as well, I was about to scream in delight when a lone flower grew in front of me blummng in all of its beauty and startling me, I hadn't willed it to grow.

“This is for you” He said reaching out and picking it from the ground, he gave it to me and I held it briefly wondering what to do with it when an idea came into my head, I grabbed the pony tail and pulled it out of my hair, then gently I twirled the flower with a strand of my hair making it stay there. “I guess that's what your powers can do” I smiled as another flower grew in front of me (this one I had grown) and without even touching it the flower grew two cm, and then 5, and then 10. It continued like that until it was a bit taller than me as I sat and I willed it to stop by imagining a glass wall blocking its way. The flower stopped growing and I smiled briefly as I stood up.
