"Hi I-lly, how are you doing?" I phoned. Surprisingly it wasn't her who picked up.
"Hello Calum, I'm sorry I-lly left her phone to the kitchen yesterday and she hasn't come out of her room since yesterday. Maybe I can help you?"
I had to decide quickly "yes mam, can I visit her today? After school maybe?"
"Of course! I really want her to be happy and I know that you can do that. I believe in you. You can come over whenever you want so I'll put a spare key under the red pot. Wait... Oh I'm sorry I have to go now have a nice day!" She turned off before I could've said goodbye.
It was so nice to know that I was finally trustworthy for someone.
After school.
It was Friday and I knew exactly why she wasn't at school today. She was a great target for bullies and other cold hearted people. That had triggered anxiety, stress and depression. The more I'd come to know her, the more I saw her true self. I-lly was completely broken and I wanted to resurrect her.
I got a large pizza, lots of chocolate and a huge flower bouquet. I never cared about how much it would all cost because she was always the most important thing in the world.
The drive to her was thankfully very short. Ever since I got my driving licence, I've had tiny road trips with her.
I grabbed the spare key and quietly stepped in. Her family had gone to theater, I knew about their plans because I-lly should have gone too.
I went up to the next floor and softly knocked on the door.
"Calum?!" I heard her amazing voice crack. It just took two seconds to open that locked door for me. I had been ready for the hug by putting down all the stuff I bought for her.
We hugged for atleast a minute. It was the tightest hug I've ever had.
"Thank you so much for coming I... I thought you had forgotten me since you know... gigs and stuff," she mumbled.
"I would never forget you I-lly. You mean the world to me," I picked up the items and oh how her eyes widened.
"You shouldn't have done this, I don't deserve this."
"You deserve way more than this," shit her giggle, it melted my heart. She got a vase and untied the bouquet. The flowers gently spread in it.
We ate pizza while she was venting everything to me - from every simple thing what was bothering her to the insane thoughts she had.
At some point we had deep conversations where often pauses came in. One of the pauses, I decided to confess her.
"I have felt the same way, I-lly, I really have. Maybe a little differently but I know exactly how you feel. I love you I-lly. You mean so much to me."
"Calum, thank you for always being here for me. If it wasn't for you, I'd be dead, not kidding. You gave me hope and here I am fighting. You taught me that there is always something positive in bad. You changed my thinking more than you could imagine. Thank you for everything."
"Always."
We later watched a silly comedy movie and cuddled into oblivion. She was tired and so had fallen asleep halfway through the film. I played ninja and turned off the tv without breaking our cuddle. So I just laid there.
Chosen her over everything - school, music, my own family, you name it.
September 21st.
