There are stars in my endless sea,
Space; a void deeper than a human soul.
Looking out, it is all I can ever see,
And the hunger for something more,
Swallows me into an inescapable black hole,
Distancing the hope of ever reaching shore.
~
Humanities last hope was sent on a trip;
On dreams of fantasy, love, and lore,
We were to be the cup, the holy grail,
Born, bred, and harvested on a ship,
With countless possibilities to explore,
We gaze out on the other side of the veil,
As our world burns, charred by passion,Fueled from our hopeless desperation,
And our greed of lasting destruction.
~
There are stars in my endless sea,
It is what is seen as we chart our trail,
Staring out, the colors may change,
Though it doesn't matter, for we are the key,
Set to a course that we cannot derail,
The eyes may change, but DNA is the same.
