Not all Hufflepuffs are the same, but many are practical. That doesn't mean realist/no dreams/ unimaginable. In fact, most of us are optimists!

Here's an example-

Four students come to a door on their way to complete a daring quest.

The Ravenclaw uses Alohomora. That's the smart choice.

The Slytherin picks the lock with a bobby pin. That's the shrewd choice.

The Gryffindor kicks the door down. It's certainly effective.

The optimistic Hufflepuff tries the doorknob. Turns out it wasn't locked.

Sometimes you see this house comparison with Ravenclaw trying the door, and sometimes you see it with Hufflepuff. In my opinion, though, Ravenclaw would never do that. A Ravenclaw's head is always in the clouds, thinking of new ideas. They would never think of something so MUNDANE.

A Slytherin wouldn't try the door. They wouldn't think it would be so OBVIOUS.

A Gryffindor wouldn't try the door. They would think it's too BORING.

Of course, there are outliers in every house. For example, Hermione Granger may try the door or use Alohomora. I can't see her kicking it down.

But I think we can all agree that this is a perfect display of Puff Practicality.
