(A/N: I couldn't decide whether to give this story a good or a bad ending so I just did both. Hope you enjoy and this song is for the bad ending. And I'm so sorry it took this long to update and that its so long)
After hearing of the abuse going on at the Foster home that Ame and Sian lived, Dinah took them into her care. They had to move to Star City but it didn't matter to them seeing as they were normally by their lonesome. They didn't have much friends to leave behind. In fact, their only friends were each other. A lot of kids at their school hated them for some reason.
Ame told Dinah about the pills and things that have been happening to her. She told her of how she wanted to get better. But she didn't want to be treated as a crazed child but as a person. Dinah wanted to keep Ame safe and baby proofed the house so Ame couldn't hurt herself. Sian and the team made sure to treat this as a recovery and still acted as if everything was ok. She saw a therapist every week on Wednesday. And it was like this for a few months until Dinah finally saw Ame making progress.
Happy ending:
She was finally free! With the help of her therapist, Ame was becoming better. As for Doctor, he was locked up in Arkham. Her bright, eye blinding smile was back and it was here to stay. She laughed more too. Her hair returned to its thick, blue glory. Her eyes glowed and beamed with happiness and now that she and Kaldur were officially an item. They finally talked about what happened in the closet and if their feelings were real. They weren't perfect and often fought but they made it work. They stayed this way until his betrayal 4 years later.
Bad ending:
Ame wanted to get better, for her friends, for a better life, so she tried her hardest to stay on course. It had been a struggle but she felt as if she was making process. She moved to a new school and made friends. Sian and her were staying in a safe place and Sian even got a job. She would too but she's really trying to focus on school and adding a job would just stress her out. Ame luckily still got to go on missions and spent her free time with Sian and the team. Everything was finally going good.
One night, Kaldur thought it was a good idea to take Ame out. Not on a date-date. But something to show her that he thinks that she has made it a long way. Kind of like a '4 months coping with depression' badge.
He told the team where they were going and had made sure it was ok with Dinah before going out. The team just nodded and told them to have fun. Sian on the other hand was worried. This was the first time that Ame has gone on a date. And also the first time she's been anywhere without him. He worried something would happen under Kaldur's care. And he didn't like Kaldur all that much either. Sian felt like Kaldur was just playing nice guy and was actually just trying to get in his sister's pants. Mostly because he was jealous that Ame was hanging out with someone else.
"Maybe I should come too." Sian suggested,"It's late."
"Don't worry, I have Kal." Ame hung on to Kaldur's arm.
"I know that but-"
Wally slapped Sian on the back,"Oh honey. Just let the kids out to have fun."
Sian glared at Wally. Wally sheepishly laughed,"This is the part where you say, No funny business with my daughter, young man."
"She's my sister."
"Well you're acting more like my dad-"
"Don't you dare." Sian warned,
"Daddy." Ame looked at Sian's disgusted face.
"I hate when you do that!" Sian skulled,"Fine just leave. I don't care."
"Thanks Daddy." She pecked Sian on the cheek,"Be back later."
"And no funny business with my sister!" Sian yelled after them.
As they went to the Zeta Tubes, Wally said,"I get why you wouldn't want your sister to call you daddy but what was that all about?"
"It's a long and embarrassing backstory that I don't want to talk about ever again."
-------------
They went to their normal hang out, the Cake and Shake. It was like one of those 50's diners that you only saw on TV shows and movies. The waitresses roller skated with your food or ready to take orders. They had on those weird 50's waitress outfits with their hair in the famous 50's updo. The waiters had their hair greased back and wore leather jackets. Some of the workers were actually paid to sit around and look like greasers and soc. The diner was alive and Ame loved it. Though she did hear, 'Need a haircut greaser?' one too many times. They ordered something simple. Just some fries and a milkshake. One of Ame's favorite. And she savored every bite.
---------------
It was 7:30 when they left the dinner. So they thought to walk around and have fun but little did they know that evil was lurking.
Doctor had escaped prison and he found her yet again. He watched in the window of the diner hid in the shadows as they played around.
Since Ame knew that they had extra time, she took Kaldur to one of her old foster homes. She'd told him that it was a horrible place and she got beat a lot. But she loved because it had a great view of the stars. Ame loved star gazing. Kaldur saw her do it on the beach many times.
Kaldur studied her: her eyes sparkled and twinkled as the stars reflected off them and the way that the night air blew through her thick hair made him feel bubbly inside. He gently turned her head and gave her a kiss on her soft lips.
"You're so beautiful." he told her as he broke away.
Since leaving the diner, she had changed out of her alien form. Her hair turned blue again and the freckles that was splattered across her cheeks, changed into 3 dark blue dots under each eye. She had actually dressed up for their little date. She wore a Thrasher hoodie that was cut so short that you could see her sports bra. Her black jeans had big holes that exposed her knees. Her hair was pulled up and she wore light makeup. Kaldur was happy that she was confident enough to start showing more skin.
She blushed but didn't speak. He checked the time: 10:15. They should be heading backing. Sian would have his head if he didn't bring Ame home soon.
As they climbed off the roof of the house, a third shadow appeared and Doctor revealed himself. Kaldur's first instinct was to protect Ame at all cost but that would be a little difficult seeing as they didn't have weapons. Kaldur told Ame to run as he fought off Doctor.
"I'm not just going to leave you."
"That's an order Ame," Kaldur positioned himself,"Get out of here!"
Ame stood her ground,"I'm not leaving you!"
Kaldur realized that Ame wasn't backing down so he nodded. Doctor lunged at Kaldur without warning and went to attack. Kaldur dodged out of the way of all the blows Doctor tried to give him. But as did Doctor when it was Kaldur's turn to give the attacks. They were in a stalemate. The two were fighting so intensely that there was no way for Ame to get in and help Kaldur.
The two separated from each other to catch their breaths. Doctor then swiftly ran at Kaldur with full force. Kaldur dodged the fist but didn't see the knife. The knife landed itself into Kaldur's femur. Wounded by the attack, he stumbled back. Behind Doctor, Ame had been ready to attack. She kicked Doctor so hard that he went flying into the nearby building. Ame kneeled next to the Atlantean's body. Blood from his injury squirted in her face. She pulled him from out the middle of the alleyway and put him up against the wall. Ame ripped off one of her hoodie's sleeves and tied it around Kaldur's thigh.
"You'll be ok." she told him,"You'll be just fine."
Kaldur's vision blurred as he saw the bloody puddle around him get bigger,"You have to run."
"I'm not leaving you." Ame ripped off the other sleeve and wrapped it around Kaldur's leg.
"Just you and me again old friend." Doctor peeled himself from the wall.
Ame got up and readied herself,"I'm not going back to that lab!"
"Oh you're going,"Doctor licked his knife,"Even if I have to carry you there in a body bag."
Her face turned pale and she broke out into a cold sweat. She wasn't strong as she used to be. The new pills that Dinah had her taking make her weaker. She was scared- terrified but she had to be brave and fight. Or Kaldur would die. She would die.
Doctor lunged for Ame, running at top speed. She saw him raise the knife and went running towards him. As he went to plunge the knife into her, she grabbed his arm. She projected herself over his head, his arm still in tow, and slammed him to the ground. She rolled into a fighting stance. Doctor got up quickly and rubbed the dirt off him shoulder,"They've taught you well."
Ame ignored his compliment and ran at him. Instead of trying to hit high, he went for a low attack. She jumped over him again and kicked his back. As he tumbled forward, she kicked his feet. He felt a thud. They fought like this for a while. She lead the fight. He made her think she was winning, but he had one more trick up his sleeve. When she went to grab him, Doctor shocked her. He shocked her so long that her skin began burn and amber veins appeared all over her body. This caused her to scream and retreat. With his opportunity wide open he struck her with a hidden knife. He did it continually.
_________
Sian knew it was late and his brother senses told him he needed to be worried. Even though the team insisted Ame and Kaldur were ok, something inside Sian told him they were very long. So he got on his motorcycle and headed to the Cake and Shake. He asked an employee if he had seen Ame.
Sian showed him the picture,"They told me they'd be here."
"They left hours ago."
Sian got back on the back and looked around. He had looked around for sometime and started to worry even more. Then he got a message on his phone. Ame had sent her location.
----------
When he got there it was too late. Ame was lying face down in a pool of her own blood. He picked her up. She wore a crooked smile with blood running down her mouth like a waterfall. Her back was bloodied with big dark red holes.
"Ame! It's okay you're ok. Just stay with me." He choked on a sob.
"Sian? Kaldur...needs help. He's down that alleyway." Ame took a deep breath,"He was stabbed in his femur-"
"I don't give a fuck about him." Sian cried,"Ame..please don't leave me."
"You're so ugly when you cry. You sound like a dying horse," Ame looked at the stars,"Stop crying, please." She couldn't stand to see him cry. She let him hold her. He played with her hair and told her how stupid she was. He let his tears fall freely on her face and silently waited for her eyes to shut.
"I love you."
He held her until her body became lump and cold.
------------
The sky was dark and stormy. It seemed that even the clouds cried. Everyone's head was held low. People that didn't even know her said kind words regarding her. The team spoke, even if some words were muffled by cries. Sian was too heartbroken to speak. And Kaldur, too overcome by grief, stayed at the Cave and hid in the girl's now empty room.
She was buried in her favorite galaxy dress and her hair was the same thick mess it has always been. She bore no makeup for she never wore any but her face still seemed to glow and shine.
Sian stopped talking. He never said a word to anyone. He became  mute. Not only did he lose his sister, but he lost his best friend. The one person that knew how to make him happy, the one person that never judged him and loved him conditionally. That person that was a shoulder to cry on, and was there when you needed her was no one. When she passed away, she gave him her phone. Within that phone, held all of their memories. The phone was flooded with pictures and videos of them that they have collected over the years. He looked at those photos everyday.
Kaldur would later disappear, in his own little world. He would watch the stars like she did and listened to her music. He tried to hold back the tears but they escaped despite his wishes. The team knew that he would want to be alone. He felt as if it was his fault that the one thing that he truly loved was gone.
