Chapter 2 : First Day at work or last?

Today will be my first day at work so I m really excited. A little nervous too. Though I had met with Mr. Philips, the director earlier when he gave me job & is a nice person, I still feel a little anxious about What will happen today? Will I be able to handle patients well? So today I have decided to go 1 hour early than my schelduled 10:00 am time.

"Bloom dear! The breakfast is ready! Come to the table." My mom shouts from kitchen.

"Coming!" I yell back so that she can hear me since my room's door is closed. Since I m already prepared, I reach the table immediately being pulled by the wonderful aroma of the food cooked by my mom.

"Good morning papa, mom & bro" I greet them once I m seated in my chair with them all.

"Good morning Bloom" they greet me back. It feels so good with family. I missed them very much during my time in hostel so now I m very happy that I could get a job so near.

We eat breakfast while chatting on random topics since this is only the time we get to talk like this given my job time is really erratic. U know, emergencies & all.

"I m off!" I shout as I put my black heels on. They are my favorite & I feel they are lucky for me too.

"Bye. Best of luck dear." My parents cheered me on with that warm smile on their face.

I take the metro to the hospital. Yeah the hospital is real close to the metro station, good for patients visiting too!

I head off direct to my assigned room after marking my attendence at the reception. The reception lady is warm too but seems a little flirty with the kind of dress she wears but whatever, doesn't concern me.

I went into my assigned clinic room, which was typical with white walls & a desk & chairs. Some instruments in the draws, a white coat with my name batch on it & a stethoscope. I started to check out the room, opening draws to know what to find where.

"Hey Bloom!" A friendly voice speaks as if she had known me for ages. As I turn to look, A lady of about my age is standing at the door. "I m Dr. Celia Darens but u can call me Celia or Lia. The room next door is mine. Since u r new here so I thought of greeting u, though I m new here too." She spoke with a radiant smile on her face. I like her immediately.

"Hi! As u know, I m Bloom. U must have read that from the name board on the door, isn't it?" I ask & she nods. "So why are u here early too? You don't seem to be nervous like me to come soon." I ask as the damn question has been bugging me since I saw her.

"Good question. I m here early for fun. U know, to make friends & all, life would be very boring without them & I might die of boredom!" She says expectantly while faking pain at the last part.

"Yeah yeah, u sound like someone I know. She is a great friend of mine & it seems like we will be just fine too." I smiled. Truly, Stella is one of a kind but she resembles Stella in her warm, radiant & carefree smile.

Time really flies as we both didn't even noticed that we had chatted for almost 1 freaking hour! She is awesome & I think we will a good pair of friends.

Well time for my first patient to come I think as I look at the appointment written on my register. Mr. Wonka...pain-

*knock knock*

"Come in. I suppose u r Mr.Wonka & his wife?" I say with a warm smile.

"Yes." Mr. Wonka says a little hesitantly as they occupy the chairs when I gestured them to sit.
